At MSU on Wednesday a young lady walked up to me and asked, “Are you tired?” “Not yet,” I replied. Then she said, “What are you doing?” “I’m open-air preaching. She then said ok. I don’t believe the young lady had ever witnessed open-air preaching before. She was too polite to ask, but I saw her look around as if to say no one is listening to you. Friday night I was handing out Gospel tracts on a street corner in downtown Springfield, MO when a carload of girls drove by. One of the passengers stuck her head out the window and yelled, “Hey sexy cowboy.” Yes, she yelled this at me. No, I’m not sexy. No, I’m not a cowboy. But I am a follower of Jesus Christ who believes we are to go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature. We are supposed to deny ourselves, pick up our cross and follow Jesus. When Christians venture outside of their homes and their churches, they will hear strange comments. But we really shouldn’t be surprised when lost people act lost. [Read more…]
If you have ever heard me sharing the Gospel before then you most likely have heard me say the word repent. A lot of times I say repent and surrender your life to Jesus or repent and believe the Gospel. Or maybe you’ve heard me say repent and trust Jesus or repent and put your faith in Jesus. I say these words because I truly want you to repent and be converted. My desire is to see you saved. I hope to see you one day in Heaven and you can’t make it there without Jesus Christ. “Do you have a uterus?” asked the woman who pulled her SUV into Planned Parenthood’s parking lot. Yes, a woman drove into the parking lot just to ask, do you have a uterus. In other words, if my friends and I can’t have a baby then somehow that negates our right to stand against abortion. Hogwash. Life is precious and life is worth fighting for. Love not hate. Students I come here and share the Gospel with you every week out of love not hate. I do not hate you. If I hated you, I would not spend my lunch hour hear pleading with you to come to Jesus Christ. If I hated you, I wouldn’t care if you died in your sins and you went on to Hell. But I do not hate you. I lift my voice up so you can hear me from several directions as you are coming and going. Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God so my great desire is for you to hear God’s truth, that He will convict you over your sins and that the Lord would grant you eternal life. Friday night was Artwalk and there was a good crowd downtown. Kelly, Steven, Serenity, Diana, Elise, Aaron, Joe and I were blessed to have evangelist Larry Craft and his family join us. They nearly doubled the size of our group and we needed all hands-on deck, especially with the vocal atheists that stood in front of us all night. [Read more…]
