Works Based Gospel

Works Based Gospel

Works Based Gospel

People wrongly accuse Seek and Save the Lost of promoting a works based Gospel. If this is what you think, I’m sorry to tell you that you are wrong. Jesus did not have a different message 2,000 years ago than He does today. Jesus said repent and believe the Gospel (Mark 1:15). God commands everyone to repent and put their trust in Jesus (Acts 17:30-31 and Acts 20:21). Those verses are just as relevant today as they were 2,000 years ago. Those verses are just as much for us today as they were for the hearers 2,000 years ago.  [Read more…]

Crazy and Demonic

We encountered one man that seemed crazy and another one that appeared to be demonic last Friday night. Aaron, Brian, Diana, Elise, Jimmy and his son, Serenity, Erica, a couple of young girls from her church and I witnessed downtown on the square.  [Read more…]

Another Ticket

Another Ticket!

Ministry Update April 24, 2016

Another ticket! No, I’m not joking. Same old, same old. Three men preach using the same amplifier, but Aaron was the only one who received a ticket. Aaron showed the police officer and the acting Sergeant the agreement that he has with the city, but they totally ignored it. I pointed out to the first officer that it wasn’t fair that Aaron was being ticketed when three of us were preaching so he took my license, but in the end he handed it back to me and only ticketed Aaron. This is blatant harassment and it is wrong.  [Read more…]

Antiquing

Antiquing

My wife and I used to go antiquing all the time or as we say in the Ozarks – antiquin “anteken.” I used to collect rock albums and my wife used to collect millafore boxes and picture frames. It was fun when I found an album that I’d tried to find for a long time and I really loved it when I found one that was priced right. The millafore boxes that my wife collected were really hard to find. So it was exciting just to see one, no matter how much they were asking for it, but we’d get really excited if we found what she collected in the price range that we could afford.  [Read more…]

No!

I was going to call this update No!; but I decided on Ultimate No after witnessing downtown Friday night. Before I talk about Friday night though, I’ll start off telling you about witnessing at MSU last Wednesday. I started off handing out tracts that a friend gave me that he bought at the Shepherds Conference. I had 200 of them with me, but I only gave out 100. Many students said no thank you when I offered them a tract and others just said no.  [Read more…]

Hymns Are Offensive

Hymns Are Offensive

We started last Friday night off like we always do singing hymns. You could tell it was going to be wild when people yelled out of their car windows while we were singing hymns. How crazy is that? We tend to think that anything goes in America anymore and for the most part this is true, but not when it comes to Christianity. Even hymns are offensive.  [Read more…]

Bruce Listening To Aaron

Ministry Update February 21, 2016

Human Too

Human Too Feb 16 2016

I finished up open-air preaching at MSU on Tuesday February 16, 2016 and started handing out tracts when Aaron began preaching. I handed out a few tracts when they guy who last week said that he was human walked up with another guy and they stopped right in front of Aaron. I walked over to him and said you know last week when you said that you were human; I assume you meant that you are a humanist. He shook his head yes. I continued I thought about this the last week and we are all humans and the Bible says that we all have sinned. He told me that he didn’t have time to talk because he takes his job very seriously. I pointed out to him that I didn’t preach to him last week and that I wasn’t preaching to him that day, I actually walked over to see what he was petitioning for and he said that they were petitioning for all parents of elementary students to get free child care. I thanked him and he walked off to go to work somewhere else.  [Read more…]

Encouragers

Aaron and I witnessed at MSU on Wednesday February 10, 2016. It was a really encouraging day. I went first and two students came up while I was preaching and they were grinning from ear to ear, one of them shook my hand and thanked me for sharing the Gospel. Then later on, a student walked up near me, he didn’t stop, but as he walked by he said “keep going.”   [Read more…]

Kelly Praying for Nick Feb 5 2016

Ministry Update February 7, 2016

Last Friday night Kelly and his son Steven joined us witnessing downtown and Kelly did something different. He handed out some tracts and sang hymns with us, but mostly he asked everybody that walked by: Can I pray for you tonight? Yes he had many rejections, but that didn’t faze him. He kept asking and praying and when the night was over he had prayed with 11 people. Praise God!  [Read more…]

Leave Out The Law

Leave Out The Law Pic

Leave Out The Law

In addition to some people wanting us to leave the Gospel out of our messages others want us to leave out The Law. They want us to leave out the 10 Commandments when we preach in the open-air. Whether we are downtown or at MSU, it’s not uncommon to hear “You preach hate.” Or “Tell them the love of Jesus.”“ And “that’s not now you love them to Jesus.” Or  “You’re being judgmental.” “Judge not lest ye be judged.” “Only God can judge me.”  [Read more…]
