Super Bowl Outreach 2017 Update

God Answered Prayers!

This update is about 100 evangelists from around the country converging on Houston, Texas for Super Bowl weekend and how God answered five months of prayers for the outreach. We believe three people got saved, one person was delivered out of a cult, thousands of Gospel tracts were handed out, several Bibles were handed out and many one to one conversations took place.  [Read more…]

Ministry Update January 24, 2016

Cold Cold Cold!

We witnessed downtown Friday night and it was cold cold cold . It was 23 degrees outside and with the wind chill it felt like 8 degrees. Aaron, Diana, Elise and I sang a few hymns and then I brought a message Leave Out the Law. While I was on the box, a young man holding a bongo type drum came up and told me that I should tell people about God’s love. I told him that I was telling people about the disease before I told them about the cure. Then he said God loves everybody. I asked him where’s that in the Bible. He couldn’t quote the verse. So I asked him about Psalm 7:11 that says God is angry with the wicked every day and Psalm 5:5 that says God hates all workers of iniquity. Amazingly he said that you can make the Bible say whatever you want it to say. I said, no you can’t. It’s black and white. There is no gray. [Read more…]

Greg preaching while I'm witnessing to Tom the Satanist

Greg preaching while I’m witnessing to Tom the Satanist

Friday July 3, 2015 was quite an interesting night. Before we started singing hymns, a friendly atheist came up to talk to Aaron. He used to hold signs with other atheists and stand in front of us when we preach. His name is Jim and he’s been kicked out of two atheist groups because he sticks up for our street preaching. He doesn’t agree with us, but he believes we have the right to free speech. Another lady was with him and they talked to Aaron for quite a while before we got started. After we sang some hymns, I brought a message against homosexuality and it allowed us to get into some good conversations. Greg with Born of Him Ministries went after me and while he was preaching, I talked to Tom the Satanist. Yes, he claimed to be a real Satanist and he had a pentagram tattoo on his calf muscle. He kept telling me that there aren’t object truths. I asked him if it would be wrong if I knocked him in the head and stole his wallet. He said yes, but it was only his subjective truth.  [Read more…]

Was Last Night a Success?

A sister in Christ asked me to tell about some success stories in witnessing. I have seen Aaron lead people to Christ after street preaching, including a Muslim man, a suicidal woman and others. I’ve seen people crying under conviction while listening to street preaching and I’ve seen people under Holy Ghost conviction after one to one conversations. I’ve even witnessed people being brought to tears from reading Gospel tracts. [Read more…]

(Greg and Houston are pictured in the first picture)Greg Marlin and I are part of Born of Him Ministries and we witnessed at the Springfield high school graduations on May 9th and 10th. We were greatly blessed to have a young man named Houston Kelly join us when we went out on the 9th. It rained for three hours straight that night. Houston is a tracting machine. He gave out hundreds and hundreds of tracts, in the pouring rain! He also broke the sound barrier by reading blessed Scripture a couple of different times. [Read more…]

No I’m Good

Truman MDB

“Did you get one of these?” or “Did you get your million?” are questions that we typically ask while we are handing out gospel tracts. Frequently, people will say, “No, I’m good.” Sometimes we’ll respond back, “that is THE question: How good are you?”

What they don’t realize, is that they are answering the real question we want to ask them (and it’s on the back of the tract): Are you good enough to go to Heaven? That’s why we go out witnessing. We are concerned about where people will spend eternity. The reason we go out witnessing is because most people think that they are good. Proverbs 20:6 (KJV) states “Most men will proclaim every one his own goodness: but a faithful man who can find?” So the Bible even tells us that most people think that they are good.

Psalm 14:1 states The fool says in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, they do abominable deeds, there is none who does good. None of us are good, none of us are righteous on our own (Romans 3:10-12). Righteousness is credited to true believers only through the righteousness of the Son of God, Jesus.

Jesus Christ, the sinless one, died a horrible death on the cross for guilty sinners. God’s wrath was poured out on Him for our sins. Then he rose from the dead on the third day. He defeated sin, death and Hell. Jesus is the only way to salvation. You must turn from your sins and put your trust in Jesus. Then, God will see you through the righteousness of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ instead of your own unrighteousness.

Some people may intellectually know this, but they have never truly surrendered their life to Jesus. They are going through life thinking that they are “good.” That they are “alright” the way they are. They don’t realize that Jesus said that all liars will have their part in the lake of fire (Rev. 21:8).

Friends, all includes everyone who is trusting in their own “goodness” to save themselves. They are storing up wrath for themselves on the day of judgment (Romans 2:5). Please don’t go through life thinking that you are alright – that you are good person. Don’t continue saying “No, I’m good.” Cry out to God to have mercy on you, repent and believe the Gospel. Put your faith in Jesus today.

Born of Him Ministries

November 29, 2011 by dennis@seekandsavethelost.com 2 Comments

Through reading the Bible, God convicted me that I wasn’t saved. This happened in 2007. Then God convicted me in the first part of 2009 that I needed to share my faith with others. Carla MacLachlan (author of Parenting Moment by Moment) loaned me the first two seasons of Way of the Master. After watching the second show of season 1, I bought some tracts. I started leaving those with tips to waitresses. Then God convicted me to hand them to people directly. Shortly, after that He convicted me to open my mouth and talk to people. [Read more…]

Why Should I Become a Christian?
