Jesus Loves You

Ministry Update August 21, 2022

Toward the end of the night Friday night two couples walked by us and all four refused the tract I offered them. One of the ladies turned around and said, “Jesus loves you.” I said, “How do you know that?” She laughed and replied, “Jesus loves everyone.” Again, I said, “How do you know that?” I told her that Jesus said you must be born again (John 3:7) and He also said unless you repent, you will all likewise perish (Luke 13:3). The Bible doesn’t say that Jesus loves everyone. In John 14:21, Jesus says, “He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.”

Then the woman’s husband jumped in and said that he’s been baptized, that he goes to church and we are being judgmental. Please note being baptized doesn’t save you. Going to church doesn’t save you. Trevor was beside me and he tried to talk to the man, but the man just repeated what his wife said, that Jesus loves everyone and kept walking. This is exactly why we do street evangelism. Too many people believe in a “hippy-dippy Jesus” of their own making. They don’t believe in the real Jesus, the Son of God, the Jesus of the Bible. Jesus warned that all liars will have their part in the lake of fire and brimstone (Revelation 21:8). If Jesus loves everyone, why is there a real, literal, place of torments – Hell? There’s a literal, real Hell and all unbelievers are headed there. [Read more…]

Keep Your God To Yourself

I was thinking the other day about how it is such a privilege and an honor to lift up the precious name of Jesus Christ out on the streets. I’m thankful that God compels me to share the Gospel with this lost and dying world. As I was thinking about this, some of the comments people have made over the years popped into my head. We are quickly coming upon the New Year. This is when many people give up things or vow to improve themselves. Some people commit to losing weight, exercising more, saving money, finding a friend or a new job. The list could go on and on. Why Do You Get So Mad?

Whether it’s at Missouri State University, Planned Parenthood, Pridefest or downtown Springfield, MO, I’m always amazed at how mad unbelievers get over the Gospel being proclaimed in the open-air. Some people get so enraged they don’t know what to do. They stomp around and usually cuss out the open-air preacher and vehemently claim that God isn’t real. Going The Wrong Way

Ministry Update November 25 2018

Going the wrong way in more ways than one described witnessing downtown Friday night. Even though Conner and I had a slow night, we saw people going the wrong way while driving and people going the wrong way spiritually. People driving the wrong way is a real concern because someone can get hurt or even killed. But people going the wrong way spiritually is an even greater concern. Are you calling God a liar? This is a serious question. Are you calling God a liar tonight? The Springfield Skeptics are on the square tonight encouraging you to ask them questions. I’ve talked to some of these “skeptics” in the past and they aren’t really skeptics, they are flat out atheists. They emphatically say there is no God. Ministry Update December 25, 2016

Friday night Brian, Aaron and I preached downtown and it was a night full of people mocking Jesus. I brought a message from Luke 2 about the birth of Jesus, Brian preached on victory in Jesus and Aaron preached on Matthew 1, where the angel foretells the birth of Jesus and that He will save His people from their sins. We weren’t preaching Hell fire and brimstone messages, but many people still mocked Jesus.  [Read more…]
