I like to cook on the grill and I personally prefer using charcoal. Generally, I’ll cook hamburgers, hot dogs or chicken breast on the grill. But every now and then my wife will buy some steak. On Wednesday at Missouri State University I had one encourager and two mockers. I also encountered a statement that I hadn’t heard before, a student says the Roman Catholic Church wrote the New Testament. Now I have to admit that students sometimes crack me up because they believe anything and everything they see or hear on the internet. Yet, they don’t believe the Bible except for Matthew 7:1 where they quote “Judge not lest ye be judged.” But claiming the Roman Catholic Church wrote the New Testament is about as bad as it gets. Unlike last week where I encountered vocal mockers at Missouri State University, this week was silent mockers. Not a single person said a word, but I could tell by the look in their eyes that they didn’t want to hear the message. Maybe they don’t like the method of open-air preaching. Either way, I could see that many students were silent mockers. One student stood and listened for a while. I asked him if he had any questions and he just said no, so I kept bringing the message. A little later Brittany stopped to listen before she had to head on to class. She smiled and waved as she left. It’s always great to see her. Rich, Kelly, Steven and I witnessed downtown Friday night and it was a night with many mockers. Rich started us off. He had a few people revving their cars, scooters and motorcycles revving their engines as well as people yelling out of their cars. But he also had a guy that had an amplifier that was in one of the loft apartments across the parking lot in front of us. The guy kept repeating how he was gay (but he used a derogatory term for homosexuals) and kept mocking through probably the last half of Rich’s message. This guy said that he’s going to live his alternative lifestyle and then plans on a deathbed confession at the very end. [Read more…]
Romans 8 contains some wonderful Bible verses, but tonight I want to concentrate on the first verses that deal with no condemnation no fear. I’m very partial to Romans 8:1 because this is the Bible verse that God used to convert me, to save me. I absolutely love Romans 8:1. [Read more…]
Dave, Conner And Tracy
Rich and I were the first ones to the witnessing spot Friday night and we talked to a couple of guys. The one young man was from Bolivar and I think his friend lives in Springfield. We gave them tracts and they both said they are Christians. The guy from Springfield wanted to know how effective open-air preaching is so we talked about obedience to God and the results are up to Him. Then a lady named Tracy said that she was looking for Allen. I told her that he’s probably on the square witnessing. She couldn’t find him, so she came back and witnessed with us until Allen found her later on. This was just the beginning of the night, but we had conversations before during and after open-air preaching. [Read more…]
Evidently, the majority of voters in Ireland love the right to abort babies in the womb. Two-thirds of the votes were in favor of overturning the country’s ban on abortions. That’s an even higher percentage of people in Ireland who love the right to abort babies than Americans. According to the Pew Research Center in 2017, 57% of Americans favored abortions for any reason while 40% of Americans say abortion should be illegal in all or most cases. [Read more…]
