Ministry Update November 1, 2015

While I was open-air preaching at MSU on October 28, 2015 a student walked right in front of me and she was talking on her phone. I guess whoever she was talking to wanted to know what was going on because I heard her say “it’s just the crazy preacher.” Just the crazy preacher. I’m ok with being called the crazy preacher. Why? For the preaching of the cross is to them that perish foolishness; but unto us which are saved it is the power of God (1 Corinthians 1:18). I’m ok with being called the crazy preacher because I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek (Romans 1:16).  [Read more…]

Ministry Update August 9, 2015

Actually my friends and I witnessed downtown last Friday night like we always do. There just happened to be a bunch of immoral men and women downtown who were protesting because women can’t run around in public without wearing a top. The name of this rally is so offensive that I don’t even want to repeat it here.  [Read more…]

God Loves Gay People

MSU Lesbian

A couple of weeks ago I brought a message at MSU and a young lady became upset when I read 1 Corinthians 6:9-10 and she came back and stood near me with a handwritten sign that said “God loves gay people too.”  I guess she didn’t like the words in 1 Corinthians chapter 6 that says the unrighteous shall not inherit the kingdom of God nor the words be not deceived and more specifically the part that says homosexuals will not inherit the kingdom of God.  [Read more…]

Is Jesus Your Drinking Buddy?

October 28, 2014 by dennis@seekandsavethelost.com 4 Comments

Drinking Buddies

Recently we were out here street witnessing and I talked to a young man that had been drinking. I asked if he’d been drinking and he said “what does that matter?” Then I asked him if he was headed to a bar and he said that he was. So I asked him if Jesus was his drinking buddy and he said “Yes He is.” The young man then proceeded to tell me that he guarantees that he’s won more people to Christ by going into the bars than I have by proclaiming the Gospel on the street. Today I want to talk you about fear. Let’s look at some famous fear quotes.

You can conquer almost any fear if you will only make up your mind to do so. For remember, fear doesn’t exist anywhere except in the mind. Dale Carnegie

He who fears being conquered is sure of defeat. Napoleon

Fear defeats more people than any other one thing in the world. Ralph Waldo Emerson [Read more…]

The Blame Game

The Blame Game

My sister and I blamed each other when we were growing up. When we did something wrong, we would blame it on the other one. I used to blame my wife when things went wrong when we worked together. Even if it was an employee’s fault – an employee that I hired, I would still blame my wife for their mistakes. [Read more…]

Total Recall

Some people can remember most of what they read and see. In fact, some people even have a photographic memory. I am not one of them. I have a hard time remembering what I ate for lunch yesterday. But other people remember everything in great detail. Albert Mohler is the president of Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. He doesn’t have a photographic memory, but it’s pretty close to one. He reads several different newspapers every day and then he talks about the most important issues for about 15 or 20 minutes. He does this every morning, Monday through Friday and he does The Briefing without a script. He truly has an amazing memory. [Read more…]

Will Your Name Be Remembered?

John Q Hammons Statue blog pic

Who won the Oscar in 1969 for Best Actor? Which actor has an airport named after them? Which actor was known as The Duke? If you answered John Wayne for all three of these questions you would be correct. John Wayne won an Oscar for Best Actor in 1969 for True Grit. He died in 1979 and Orange County renamed the airport John Wayne Airport that same year and he was known as The Duke. I wonder if Millennials even know who John Wayne was and I’m sure a very small number even care. So if he’s barely remembered (by young people) now 35 years after his death, will he be remembered in 50 more years? [Read more…]
