How Can God Know Evil Since He Is Perfect?

Ministry Update November 15, 2020

Toward the end of my message at MSU on Wednesday, a young man sat on a bench near me. I was explaining how most people think they are good, even though the Bible says none of us are good. The young man yelled what if he admits that he’s evil? Since he stated this nonchalantly, while eating a banana, I told him that it appeared that it would be false modesty in his case. I’ve been street witnessing for 10 years and I’ve seen a few people broken over their sins, but this young man wasn’t one of them. But it started our conversation and the young man went from emphatically saying God isn’t real to asking the question, “How can God know evil since He’s perfect?” [Read more…]

Cowardice To Mouth Off Something And Walk Off

Ministry Update July 12, 2020

I’d say we typically have more mockers than not while open-air preaching and I’ve mentioned mockers many times when giving updates. But Friday night while Conner was open-air preaching a group of three guys walked by and one of them mouthed off. I didn’t think much of it (because it’s just the normal), but Conner had great insight. Conner boldly said, “It’s cowardice to mouth off something and walk off.” I’d never really thought about it, but he’s absolutely correct.

A person is a coward that mouths off something and walks away. If you really believed in your convictions, shouldn’t you stand up for what you believe? Mockers are cowards. If they weren’t, they’d have a real discussion. The mocker Friday night proved Conner’s point because even though Conner called him a coward and pointed out how cowardice it is to mouth off something and walk off, the mocker kept on walking.  [Read more…]

Why The Update – I Know It’s A Sin

Why The Update – I Know It’s a Sin

Why the update I know it’s a sin? Because that’s what the young man admitted to me. Several of us were witnessing downtown on a Friday night in November 2016. I started talking to a young man named Cody while he waited on his friend who was talking to Erica. Cody appeared to be very intoxicated, so I asked him if he’d been drinking and he said that he had been. When I asked him if he realized that getting drunk was sinning against God, he admitted, “I know it’s a sin.” You need to realize that most people won’t admit their sinning when confronted with their sins. Typically, people come back with comments like “everybody does it” or “it’s no big deal” or “it’s human nature or just being human.” So it’s actually refreshing when someone actually admits their sin. Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve

Ministry Update December 30, 2018

There were several mockers while I witnessed Christmas Eve in front of Hobby Lobby. One guy mouthed off the whole time he turned the corner at the stoplight. Others mouthed off as they drove by or honked their horn with disapproval. Frankly, this cracked me up a little bit. Wouldn’t you think that Christmas eve, the day before we celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ would be the perfect time to tell about His birth, sinless life, sacrificial death and salvation that only He provides? Obviously, not everyone agreed with my thinking. But the mocker that topped them all was the young man with a carload of young people asking me “Do you have marijuana to sell?”  [Read more…]

Crazy Drunk Demonic or Why Choose

Ministry Update July 3, 2016

Drunk, Crazy, Demonic or Why Choose?

I joked with my friends after we finished witnessing Friday night that “we got our money’s worth tonight.” We encountered several people that were drunk, crazy,  demonic or why choose (in other words all of the above). It was a crazy night of witnessing.  [Read more…]
