Do You Really Want God To Judge You?

Do You Really Want God To Judge You?

The bible verse that’s thrown in an open-air preacher’s face more than any other is Matthew 7:1 – Judge not that ye be not judged. This may very well be the most overused and misquoted verse in the Bible. If you read further past verse one, you will see that Jesus is saying don’t be a hypocrite. I shouldn’t preach against adultery if I’m an adulterer. Jesus isn’t saying we shouldn’t judge (in fact He tells us to judge with righteous judgment – John 7:24). Along these same lines, we frequently hear people shout “Only God can judge me.” [Read more…]

Seek And Save The Lost

Seek And Save The Lost

God brought to mind the name Seek and Save the Lost when I named this ministry toward the end of 2009. What really caught my attention is that it is biblical and I especially liked the seeking part. There’s something very comforting in knowing that Jesus is seeking the lost. But lately, God has the “save the lost” part standing out to me. Not only is Jesus a seeking God; He also is a saving God. Jesus came to seek and save the lost. The King James Version puts it this way:  For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost (Luke 19:10). [Read more…]

Are You Afraid Of The Dark?

Are You Afraid Of The Dark?

Are you afraid of the dark? I admit that I was when I was a little kid. All of my kids also had night lights when they were younger because they too were afraid of the dark. People make fun of you if you are afraid of the dark when you get older. But I’m not trying to make fun of you, instead, I’m sincerely asking: are you afraid of the dark? I’m asking this question tonight because there are some people who should be afraid of the dark. [Read more…]

Which Cup Are You Drinking From?

I hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving Day and I hope you thanked the one true God, the God of the Bible for His many blessings. I’m sure many people ate a lot of food and had a great day. Personally, I drank some cranberry juice and iced tea along with eating a Thanksgiving meal.  [Read more…]

They Repented Not

They Repented Not

I was reading the Bible the other day and ran across these heart-breaking words – they repented not. Jesus is speaking and He’s talking about the cities where He performed miracles, where He preached the Gospel and they would not listen. They did not have ears to hear. They did not repent. Jesus shared the Gospel, spoke truth to the people and they repented not.  [Read more…]

King Solomon – Bring Me A Sword

Sacrificial Love

The Bible describes King Solomon in 1 Kings 10:23 as follows: So king Solomon exceeded all the kings of the earth for riches and for wisdom. Shortly, I want to relay the story most people think of when we talk about Solomon’s wisdom. It’s the story of two women who both claimed a living baby was their own and the other woman was the mother of the dead baby. Yes, most people focus on Solomon’s wisdom in handling this case. But what strikes me the most is the love of the real mother of the living baby. Not only did she love her son, she loved him with truly sacrificial love.  [Read more…]

Are You Cursed?

I assume most of us out here tonight don’t believe in curses. We don’t believe in curses from witches or voodoo curses. Most of us don’t believe in such things in the 21st century. So, this may seem like a strange question tonight, but are you cursed? No, I’m not joking. I’m sincerely asking if you are cursed?  [Read more…]

My Ransom Was Paid

My Ransom Was Paid

My ransom was paid. Not by my wife, nor my boss and not by my friends. But my ransom was paid. I’m free! I’m free, I’m really free. My ransom has been paid in full. I have been set free. It’s a wonderful feeling, like no other. Are you feeling hopeless tonight? Do you believe that there’s no way out? Are you heavy burdened tonight? Does it seem like there is no way of escape? Don’t despair. You too can be set free.  [Read more…]

Spotless Lamb

Spotless Lamb Of God

Spotless Lamb

I’m sure even non-Christians have heard of the 10 plagues that God sent upon Egypt during Old Testament times. The water was turned to blood, frogs, lice, flies, pestilence, boils, hail (with fire and thunder), locusts, darkness and the death of the firstborn of man and beast. It was only after the death of the first born that Pharaoh let the Israelites go. But did you know that not a single firstborn child or animal of the Israelites died that night? Why not? Because of the spotless lamb.  [Read more…]
