Do You Really Want God To Judge You?

The bible verse that’s thrown in an open-air preacher’s face more than any other is Matthew 7:1 – Judge not that ye be not judged. This may very well be the most overused and misquoted verse in the Bible. If you read further past verse one, you will see that Jesus is saying don’t be a hypocrite. I shouldn’t preach against adultery if I’m an adulterer. Jesus isn’t saying we shouldn’t judge (in fact He tells us to judge with righteous judgment – John 7:24). Seek And Save The Lost

God brought to mind the name Seek and Save the Lost when I named this ministry toward the end of 2009. What really caught my attention is that it is biblical and I especially liked the seeking part. There’s something very comforting in knowing that Jesus is seeking the lost. But lately, God has the “save the lost” part standing out to me. Not only is Jesus a seeking God; He also is a saving God. Jesus came to seek and save the lost. The King James Version puts it this way:  For the Son of man is come to seek and to save that which was lost (Luke 19:10). [Read more…]

Are you afraid of the dark? I admit that I was when I was a little kid. All of my kids also had night lights when they were younger because they too were afraid of the dark. The Bible describes King Solomon in 1 Kings 10:23 as follows: So king Solomon exceeded all the kings of the earth for riches and for wisdom. Shortly, I want to relay the story most people think of when we talk about Solomon’s wisdom. It’s the story of two women who both claimed a living baby was their own and the other woman was the mother of the dead baby. Yes, most people focus on Solomon’s wisdom in handling this case. I’m sure even non-Christians have heard of the 10 plagues that God sent upon Egypt during Old Testament times. The water was turned to blood, frogs, lice, flies, pestilence, boils, hail (with fire and thunder), locusts, darkness and the death of the firstborn of man and beast.
