Ministry Update December 8, 2019

While I was open-air preaching at Missouri State University on Wednesday, a student politely interrupted me and said, “I want to talk to you about how you got the way you are.” I assured him that I’d be happy to talk to him, but I was just getting ready to share my testimony and that would answer his question. Since I wanted all the students nearby to hear, I would go ahead and tell everyone how I became a Christian and then we could talk one to one. Encouraging Lunch Hour

Ministry Update March 3, 2019

Some days street witnessing are tough and other times are a pure joy. Wednesday at Missouri State University was a very encouraging lunch hour. Thank God, 25 students took New Testaments. That would have been encouraging enough on its own, but while I was bringing a message, one student just said “Hello” and he seemed very sincere. Merry Christmas!

Ministry Update December 16, 2018

I looked at the bell tower at MSU on Wednesday and it reminded me of the Christmas Song: I Heard The Bells On Christmas Day. Well, it wasn’t Christmas day and the bells didn’t toll like they normally do on Wednesdays. It was finals week so instead of bringing a message, I handed out Gospel tracts and said Merry Christmas! several hundred times. Merry Christmas! After saying this, sometimes students would take a tract, even after they initially were shaking their head no and getting ready to refuse one. But Merry Christmas! seemed to disarm some of the students. Others still said no to the tracts, but I still said Merry Christmas to them anyway.  [Read more…]

The Wicked and the Encouraging

Ministry Update June 5, 2016

We encountered the wicked and the encouraging both Friday night witnessing during Art Walk and earlier in the week at Planned Parenthood. Friday night Aaron, Brian, Chris, Diana, Elise and I started off singing hymns. While we were singing, I noticed Chris was missing. I asked my other friends and nobody knew for sure where he was. Evidently he stepped around the corner and was talking to a young man. Chris gave him a Bible and we hope the young man reads it. Also while we were singing, our friendly atheist Jim who we haven’t seen in quite a while, walked by. I saw him first and said Hi and handed him a tract. He hesitated and then took it anyway and promised that he would read it. Aaron also said Hi to him. Even though Jim is a devout atheist, he supports our right to preach. He’s even stood up to the police for us and he’s been kicked out of a couple of atheist groups because he says we have the right to free speech.
