There were forty laborers from Crossway Baptist Church handing out tracts at the Springfield Christmas parade on Saturday. Originally the weather forecasters were predicting one to three inches of snow. But praise God, that didn’t happen and we handed out thousands of Gospel tracts. Greg led the outreach and I think in the past we may have had around 15 or 16 people witnessing at one St. Patrick’s Day Parade, but praise God, this time there were forty of us! [Read more…]

Light Night Loaded With Open-Air Preachers

Friday night was a light night loaded with open-air preachers. It was a cool night and the crowd was light, but it was great having Kelly, Steven, Conner and Brian come out witnessing. I Don’t Know Jesus And Don’t Know If I Ever Will

Before Kelly and Steven joined me downtown Friday night, I handed out tracts. A lesbian couple walked by holding hands, but I just smiled and offered them a tract. The young woman closest to me took a tract. I figured getting God’s truth in her hand was better than bashing her over the head with warnings that no homosexual shall inherit the kingdom of God (1 Corinthians 6:9-10). One guy told me that he’d received my literature before, but he still took a tract and thanked me for being there. Another man was quite supportive and thanked me for sharing the Gospel out on the streets.  [Read more…]

The Wicked and the Encouraging

Ministry Update June 5, 2016

We encountered the wicked and the encouraging both Friday night witnessing during Art Walk and earlier in the week at Planned Parenthood. Friday night Aaron, Brian, Chris, Diana, Elise and I started off singing hymns. While we were singing, I noticed Chris was missing. I asked my other friends and nobody knew for sure where he was. Evidently he stepped around the corner and was talking to a young man. Chris gave him a Bible and we hope the young man reads it. Also while we were singing, our friendly atheist Jim who we haven’t seen in quite a while, walked by. I saw him first and said Hi and handed him a tract. He hesitated and then took it anyway and promised that he would read it. Aaron also said Hi to him. Even though Jim is a devout atheist, he supports our right to preach. He’s even stood up to the police for us and he’s been kicked out of a couple of atheist groups because he says we have the right to free speech. We Are All Saved

On Wednesday February 24, 2016 I was finishing up my message at MSU and the gentleman to the right in the picture walked up and said that it wasn’t necessary to yell at people. I asked Aaron to go ahead and start preaching, since I was done, I’d talk to the guy. He is a professing Christian who says that we don’t need to yell out the Gospel because we are all saved. I was still holding my Bible from open-air preaching and I asked him to show me where that was in the Bible. Then I asked him if he believed the Bible and he didn’t answer. He repeated that we don’t need to yell at people. I suggested that he forget about the yelling, that it was just him and I talking and I asked him if he believes Revelation 21:8 that all liars have their part in the lake of fire and  brimstone, again he didn’t answer. He just put his hand on my shoulder, smiled and said that we are all saved and he walked away. I told him that if he really believes that then he’s calling Jesus a liar. Encouragers

Aaron and I witnessed at MSU on Wednesday February 10, 2016. It was a really encouraging day. I went first and two students came up while I was preaching and they were grinning from ear to ear, one of them shook my hand and thanked me for sharing the Gospel. Then later on, a student walked up near me, he didn’t stop, but as he walked by he said “keep going.”   [Read more…]

Aaron and I witnessed at MSU last Wednesday. A couple walked by while I was just starting my message and I was talking about CEO’s of large corporations. The young woman started dancing as she walked by singing “I’m going to Hell, I’m going to Hell.” I interrupted my message and told her that she is headed to Hell if she doesn’t repent and trust Jesus and it won’t be all dancing and fun and games in Hell. The young man with her was also dancing and he yelled back “God loves everyone.” I told him that he needs to read the Bible, especially Psalm 7:11 and Psalm 5:5 which say that God is angry with the wicked every day and that God hates all workers of iniquity.

This last week was a busy week. In fact, I was so busy at work on Monday that I didn’t get to join Aaron and several others from his church at Missouri State University. They joined some other Christians that day and they handed out around 40 to 50 pizzas to students, sang hymns, preached the Gospel and handed out tracts. Praise God!  [Read more…]
