Sorry We Don’t Do Abortions Here

Ministry Update July 28, 2019

Many times it’s quiet when my wife and I witness at Planned Parenthood. We go there, I open-air preach and we leave. Sometimes there’s zero interaction. But that was not the case this last Wednesday. I had three admonishers and one woman put a curse on me. I joked with my wife that we got our money’s worth that day. People didn’t like that I was lifting up Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior. They also didn’t like that I was preaching against abortion. [Read more…]

Does The Gospel Sound Foolish To You?

Does The Gospel Sound Foolish To You?

My friends and I come out here on Friday nights and share the Gospel. We typically point out that all of us have sinned against God, that we’ve all rebelled against God and there’s nothing that we can do to save ourselves. Does the Gospel sound foolish to you? [Read more…]

Lifting Up The Name Of Jesus

Lifting Up The Name Of Jesus

A lot of times my friends and I talk about sin, death and Hell. We talk about the need to repent and trust Jesus. These are necessary subjects to talk about. They are biblical. Jesus talked about them. But I must confess that I may talk too much about sin, about people dying in their sins and suffering the torments of eternal damnation. So tonight, I want to spend more time lifting up the name of Jesus, my Lord and Savior.  [Read more…]

Great Is The Lord And Greatly To Be Praised

Great Is The Lord And Greatly To Be Praised

Have you ever notice how people throw around the word great? This team is the greatest of all time. Many people consider Michael Jordan one of the greatest basketball players of all time. In 2015, Adrian Peters called himself the Michael Jordan of football. Of course, Muhammad Ali used to call himself the greatest boxer of all time. Many people throw around the word great. But there is truly one great and that is the Lord. Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised.  [Read more…]

Good Fellowship

Ministry Update January 7, 2018

Even though it was cold Friday night (but not as cold as other parts of the country), we had good fellowship. Kelly, Conner, Brandon and I had a great time visiting. Conner’s friend Brandon has done street witnessing before, but Friday was his first time open-air preaching. Praise God! We pray that it won’t be his last time.  [Read more…]

The Death Of Jesus

The Death Of Jesus

It’s only natural that people talk about the birth of Jesus around Christmas time. People all around the world celebrate the birth of Jesus Christ. It is an exciting time. But why was Jesus born in the first place? Why did He leave Heaven to come to the very earth He created and be born of the virgin Mary and the Holy Spirit? Why did Jesus do this? He was born to die. Jesus came to save His people from their sins. So in addition to everyone celebrating the birth of Christ, it makes sense that we should also talk about the death of Jesus.  [Read more…]

Why Do I Talk About Death And Hell So Much?

Why Do I Talk About Death And Hell So Much?

Last week a student came up to me while I was open-air preaching and he self-identified as a gay atheist and told me that there is nothing that I can say to change his mind. But he still asked the question: Why do you talk about death and Hell so much? This is actually a very good question. Why do I talk about death and Hell so much when I’m street witnessing?  [Read more…]

Sudden Death

Sudden Death

I used to be a real sports fanatic. Yes, I’m embarrassed to say that 20 to 25 years ago, I’d be the guy chewing out the referee at a basketball game. Red faced, veins popping out in my neck. Even though I’m nothing like I used to be, I do still like sports. Some sports have what is called sudden death, as in sudden death playoffs. In golf for example, if two or more golfers are tied at the end of a tournament, those players start playing again and the first person to score the lowest on a hole first, wins the tournament.  [Read more…]

Is Open-Air Preaching Radical?

Is Open-Air Preaching Radical?

I’ve always heard that only 2% of Christians share their faith in Jesus with others. Now some of the old-time preachers also used to say that they believed only 5% to 10% of people in churches were actually saved. Their estimates don’t seem unrealistic to me. If you have truly received everlasting life, how can you keep that to yourself? But let’s just use the 2% number tonight. If only 2% of professing Christians share their faith, how low of percentage do you think it is for Christians who do open-air preaching? So I ask you tonight: Is open-air preaching radical?  [Read more…]

Praise Jesus

Praise Jesus

My friends and I just finished singing hymns. Why do we sing hymns? Because we love to praise Jesus. We praise Him in private and we praise Jesus in public. We love Him because He first loved us. We praise Him! We praise our Lord and Savior! We gladly praise Jesus!  [Read more…]
