Is Jesus Really Lord Of Your Life?

Is Jesus Really Lord Of Your Life?

While my friends and I are out street witnessing, we run into a lot of professing Christians. Recently a guy that was inebriated claimed to be a Christian. Another guy seemed to affirm our handing out Gospel tracts, yet still asked us if we had any weed to sell. Now maybe you aren’t in this extreme of situation, but I ask you: Is Jesus really Lord of your life?

Have you truly repented of your sins and surrendered your life to Jesus? Has your life been radically transformed as in a dead person being raised to life? You may think this is a silly question, but unbelievers are spiritually dead in their trespasses and sins. When God grants you repentance and faith in Jesus, you are made alive in Christ (Ephesians 2:5). It most definitely is a dead person coming alive – spiritually alive that is. [Read more…]

Why Seek Ye The Living Among The Dead?

Jesus came to save His people from their sins (Matthew 1:21). The perfect, sinless Son of God never sinned, not one time. Yet, He willingly laid down His life as a ransom for many. God poured His wrath over sin out upon His own precious Son as Jesus hung on the cross. Jesus died, was buried and rose again victoriously three days later. That’s right, Jesus rose from the dead. On the morning of His resurrection, several women came to anoint His body with spices and an angel asked the women this question: “Why seek ye the living among the dead?” [Read more…]

Do You Know Jesus?

Do You Know Jesus?

Do you know Jesus? Have you repented and put your faith in the Lord Jesus Christ? The question isn’t do you go church or were you raised in church? The question isn’t do you know about Jesus? Do you know how He fed the 5,000, walked on water, calmed the storm or healed the sick or raised the dead? No the question isn’t do you know about Jesus or know about the things that He has done, but do you know Jesus? Is He Lord of your life?

John 1:1-10 states: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God. All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made. In him was life; and the life was the light of men. And the light shineth in darkness; and the darkness comprehended it not. [Read more…]

Who Is Lord Of Your Life?

Bob Dylan had a song years ago called “Gotta Serve Somebody” and it starts off like this:

“You may be an ambassador to England or France
You may like to gamble, you might like to dance
You may be the heavyweight champion of the world
You may be a socialite with a long string of pearls

But you’re gonna have to serve somebody, yes indeed
You’re gonna have to serve somebody
Well, it may be the devil or it may be the Lord
But you’re gonna have to serve somebody…” [Read more…]

Judge Yourselves Unworthy

Judge Yourselves Unworthy

The Apostle Paul went to Antioch in Pisidia and shared the Gospel with the Jews in the Synagogue. After he had done so, the Jews there rejected the salvation that is found in Jesus Christ alone and Paul says to them: “You judge yourselves unworthy of everlasting life.” Strong words from the apostle. The Jews in Antioch in Pisidia had judged themselves unworthy of everlasting life. [Read more…]

Do You Believe This?

Do You Believe This?

Before Jesus raised Lazarus from the dead, the Lord talked to Lazarus’ sister Martha. Basically, Martha told Jesus that if He had been there, she knew that Jesus would have healed him and her brother wouldn’t have died. She was lamenting the fact that Jesus didn’t get there in time to heal her brother. Martha and her sister Mary were heartbroken over the death of their brother. [Read more…]

Saving Faith

Saving Faith

I know people who only have intellectual knowledge of Jesus. They believe that He suffered God’s wrath over sin while Jesus hung on the cross. These people believe that Jesus was beaten beyond recognition, that Jesus suffered, bled, died on the cross and rose from the grave three days later. Because they believe these facts, they also believe they are saved. They believe that they won’t go to Hell when they die, all because they believe these truths about Jesus. But is believing facts the same thing as saving faith? [Read more…]

Can A Prophet Lie?

Can A Prophet Lie?

Can a prophet lie? In today’s world of tolerance, can a prophet lie and we just forgive that prophet because we all make mistakes? Do we forgive and forget? I’m asking these questions because I’ve had many unbelievers tell me that they think Jesus was just a good person who said some good things to live by, but they don’t believe in the supernatural things that He did. If this is your belief tonight, then you are calling Jesus a liar. So I ask again, can a prophet lie?  [Read more…]

Wake The Dead

Wake The Dead

Wake the dead. No, I’m not talking about zombies or the living dead. I’m talking about waking the dead, as in several biblical accounts of Jesus raising people from the dead. He raised up the son of the widow at Nain. Jesus also raised Jarius’ daughter from the dead. My second favorite account of Jesus raising someone from the dead is where Jesus told Lazarus to come out of the tomb.  [Read more…]
