I Knew You

I Knew You

God told the prophet Jeremiah, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.” (Jeremiah 1:5). What an amazing sentence. Almighty God, the great Creator of the universe told Jeremiah that He knew Jeremiah BEFORE God formed him in his mother’s womb. What a wonderful verse in the Bible. Go Into All The World

Go Into All The World

Jesus told His disciples to go into all the world and preach the Gospel to every creature (Mark 16:15). There are an estimated 400,000 Christian missionaries who literally take the Gospel to the farthest ends of the earth. Missionaries are in most countries around the world. But aren’t there unbelievers right here in Springfield, Missouri? Aren’t people in Springfield, MO part of God’s created beings? Isn’t Springfield, MO part of the world? [Read more…]

I Go To Church

Ministry Update September 30, 2018

There was an Awaken The Dawn event in the park next to our normal witnessing spot Friday night, so Conner and I witnessed at the corner of South and Walnut. We encountered many mockers there and after we both brought messages and handed out tracts, we went back to our normal witnessing spot. There, we also encountered more mockers. But in addition to the mockers, we also heard a phrase that we’ve heard many times while witnessing downtown: I go to church.  [Read more…]

Works Won’t Save You

Works Won’t Save You

We run into a lot of people while out street witnessing who think they are good. Many of these folks think that they are good enough to go to Heaven. That God will weigh their good against their bad and if they’ve done more good, they think they will make it. A lot of these same people also think that they can work their way to Heaven. That somehow, they can earn God’s favor through their works. But works won’t save you.  [Read more…]

Great Is The Lord And Greatly To Be Praised

Great Is The Lord And Greatly To Be Praised

Have you ever notice how people throw around the word great? This team is the greatest of all time. Many people consider Michael Jordan one of the greatest basketball players of all time. In 2015, Adrian Peters called himself the Michael Jordan of football. Of course, Muhammad Ali used to call himself the greatest boxer of all time. Many people throw around the word great. But there is truly one great and that is the Lord. Great is the Lord and greatly to be praised.  [Read more…]

The Gift Of God

The Gift Of God

The greatest gift ever given was Jesus Christ. God sent His only Son to suffer, bleed and die on a cruel cross for guilty sinners like us. Jesus willingly laid down His life. He was obedient unto death, even death on the cross. Jesus, the sinless Son of God took the punishment that you and I deserve. We have all sinned against God, yet while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. God offers eternal life to each and every person who repents and puts their trust in Jesus.  [Read more…]

Love Is The Doctrine

Love Is The Only Doctrine

I drove by a church in Springfield the other day and their sign by the road said “Love is the only doctrine of this church.” Now that sounds lovely, doesn’t it? Love is the only doctrine. Let’s all just love everybody. It really sounds wonderful, but is it biblical?  [Read more…]

The Second Adam

The Second Adam

The Second Adam

I want to talk about the second Adam in the Bible today, but I really should tell you a little about the first Adam, first. It begins with God. Genesis 1:1 says In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. Then Genesis 1:26-28 states: And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.  [Read more…]

Partial Obedience

Disobedience 1 website pic
Maybe your boss, a loved one or a friend has asked you to do something and you only partially completed the task. Are you guilty of ever doing this? Or have you ever asked someone to do a task for you and they only finished the job half halfway? If so, how did that make you feel?

I’m asking these questions because the message tonight is about partial obedience and I’d like to read 1 Samuel 15:1-28: Samuel also said unto Saul, The Lord sent me to anoint thee to be king over his people, over Israel: now therefore hearken thou unto the voice of the words of the Lord. 2 Thus saith the Lord of hosts, I remember that which Amalek did to Israel, how he laid wait for him in the way, when he came up from Egypt.  [Read more…]
