Friday night it was a real blessing to have Jeff join Kelly and I downtown. Actually Jeff got there before we did and people were already stirred up right off the bat. It was a night full of mockers. Jeff got into a conversation early on with an angry atheist riding a motorcycle. When I got to our spot (actually Jeff found a really good spot across the street from where we normally go) Jeff was already preaching and people were already mocking. I witnessed at Planned Parenthood on Friday during my lunch hour. There was only one van there when I got there and the two women inside were the only customers I saw that day. “Do you have a uterus?” asked the woman who pulled her SUV into Planned Parenthood’s parking lot. Yes, a woman drove into the parking lot just to ask, do you have a uterus. In other words, if my friends and I can’t have a baby then somehow that negates our right to stand against abortion. Hogwash. Life is precious and life is worth fighting for. Friday night was Artwalk and there was a good crowd downtown. Kelly, Steven, Serenity, Diana, Elise, Aaron, Joe and I were blessed to have evangelist Larry Craft and his family join us. My family and I went to see the Ark Encounter in Kentucky last week. It was an amazing sight. I’ve read the Bible many times and the story of the flood many, many times. But when I read about the ark being 300 cubits, it’s really hard to envision how large that really is. But Ken Ham built the Ark Encounter to the dimensions of Noah’s ark in the Bible. The ark is 510 feet long, 85 feet wide and it’s taller than a four story house. It is a massive structure. It is the largest wooden structure in the world. It is truly a wonder and I highly recommend seeing it if you get a chance.  [Read more…]

While Aaron, Kelly, Steven, Erica, Diana, Elise and I were singing hymns, a young teenager came up and asked if we were Christians? After being told yes, she walked back to her friend. Just about the time I started bringing a message, the same teenager came back over and wanted to talk about homosexuality. I invited them to listen to my message “We Don’t Want God, We’re Gay” and they sat down and listened for a while. Before I start tonight, I want to point out that I’m going to be talking about politics and two candidates in particular, but this message is not really about politics. This message is about the Bible Belt and more importantly it is about you; where you will spend eternity and there are only two places: either Heaven or Hell. We were witnessing downtown one Friday night and toward the end of the night a really foul-mouthed atheist was cussing up a storm. We tried to engage him in conversation, but he didn’t want to talk. So I asked him about his t-shirt that he was wearing. It had the outline of the state of Missouri on it as well as marijuana in the picture and it said “Unbuckling the Bible Belt.”  [Read more…]

Ministry Update November 23, 2015

On Wednesday November 18, 2015 I was at MSU at the usual spot and a young man came up to me and wanted to know if open-air preaching (or as he called it – yelling at people) was really the best way to reach people. I was just about finished with my message when he interrupted me. I told him to hang on a minute that I was about finished. But that didn’t make this professing Christian happy and frankly I get tired of the same old arguments.  [Read more…]
