All Means All

All Means All

There is a very liberal church in Springfield, MO that has a message on their church sign that reads: ALL MEANS ALL. I agree with this church that all means all, but unfortunately there is a vast difference between what this church and I think all means all really means. They mean it that they are an open, affirming church. In other words, they affirm people in their sins. Conversely, I have a biblical viewpoint. [Read more…]

Look And Believe

Look And Believe

The very first message that Jesus preached, He said “Repent and believe the Gospel.” Romans 10:9-10 says: That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God hath raised him from the dead, you shall be saved. For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. [Read more…]

Persuasive Words

Persuasive Words

Have you ever had someone talk you into doing something that you didn’t want to do by using persuasive words? When I was a young kid, I remember older kids talking me into doing something I shouldn’t and usually something stupid. Or maybe you have had a slick salesperson talk you into buying something that you regretted purchasing. Sometimes people can persuade you with enticing words to fall for something or buy something that you really don’t need or may not even really want. [Read more…]

In Or Out

In Or Out?

When I think of in and out, I think of In-N-Out Burger in California. It’s been years since I’ve eaten one of their burgers, but I remember how good they are. Sometimes we use in and out when we need to run to the store or a convenience store. Sometimes I’ll drop my wife off at the door and I keep the van running because she just needs to run in and out for one or two items. These are examples of in and out, but what about in or out? What comes to mind when you hear in or out? [Read more…]

Bring It On

Bring It On

Recently a student at Missouri State University said, “God is not real.” There’s nothing new or special about that, unfortunately, students routinely say this. I replied back that only a fool says there is no God (Psalm 14:1). I also pointed out to the young man that one day he will stand before this very God that he says isn’t real. The student then turned around, flipped me off and yelled, “Bring it on!.” [Read more…]

Blasphemy

Blasphemy

Most of us know what blasphemy is; it is using God’s name as a curse word or saying Jesus Christ in anger, also using His name as a curse word. I dare say most of us know this. Even atheists and agnostics who use God’s name as a curse word, know this is wrong. God has written His law upon our hearts. Each and everyone of us have a God-given conscience, even professed God haters. But is blasphemy more than saying a curse word? Is there more to blasphemy than this? [Read more…]

All Guilty Sinners

All Guilty Sinners

You may wonder why my friends and I witness downtown on Friday nights; why we keep sharing the Gospel in downtown Springfield, MO. We do so because we are all guilty sinners. We have all sinned against God and fallen short of His glory (Romans 3:23). Yes, we continually share the Gospel because people desperately need to hear it. [Read more…]

What Do You Affirm?

What Do You Affirm?

We are quickly coming upon the New Year. This is when many people give up things or vow to improve themselves. Some people commit to losing weight, exercising more, saving money, finding a friend or a new job. The list could go on and on. But tonight, I don’t really want to talk about your New Year’s resolution. Instead, I’d rather focus on what you already believe. I’d love to hear what you affirm. What do you live by? What is important to you? How do you determine truth? What are your beliefs? What do you affirm?  [Read more…]

Christ Is A Great Savior

Christ Is A Great Savior

John Newton, the man who wrote the wonderful hymn Amazing Grace, also stated: Although my memory’s fading, I remember two things very clearly: I am a great sinner and Christ is a great Savior. I agree wholeheartedly with this statement. I am a great sinner that has been saved by the grace of God and my salvation is found in Jesus alone. Christ is a great Savior and He is my Lord and Savior.  [Read more…]
