Is That A Christian Thing?

Is That A Christian Thing?

I handed out the Why Christianity booklets from Living Waters at MSU last Wednesday at the third witnessing spot. There were only 100 left, but all of them were taken. One student told me that he didn’t need it because he’s a Christian. When asked if he could hand it to someone, he really thought about it, but said, “No, I’m good.” One girl refused the booklet and said that she’s a Buddhist.

When I ran out of the booklets, I switched to the What’s The Meaning Of Life tracts (also from Living Waters). Several students who spoke broken English took the tracts. One girl of Indian descent took one and read it while she waited for her two friends. I didn’t realize they were together until after both of her friends took tracts and walked over to her. One guy said, “Is that a Christian thing?” and when I replied yes, he said he didn’t need it because he’s already a Christian. Then I asked if he could hand it to someone else and he really thought about it, said, “Hey, that’s a great idea!” and took it. May God bless the booklets and tracts that were handed out.

Few Great Conversations

I’m having health issues and may not be able to witness again for a while. But praise God, Joshua and Michael made it out Friday night to witness at Art Walk. I asked for an update and Joshua replied back, “Had a few great conversations. God be the glory. Seeds were planted and we had good fellowship.” I love these brothers in Christ who go out witnessing Friday nights. They are young and bold for the Lord. I thank God for sending them my way.

(These updates are provided to encourage Christians to share the glorious Gospel with others)

Jesus Would Never Say That

Ministry Update May 26, 2019

We had another blessed time witnessing downtown Friday night. Scotty McCreery was performing at the Gilloz Theatre and the weather was perfect, especially after all the recent storms. So there was good foot traffic and we had the usual mix of mockers and encouragers. But while I was bringing a message about condemnation and Jesus saying those who don’t believe will be damned a guy stopped to talk to Pastor Joshua and told him Jesus would never say that. Stop Trying And Start Trusting

Stop Trying And Start Trusting

Stop trying and start trusting. I heard a sermon the other day by Pastor Adrian Rogers where he said these words. Stop trying and start trusting. This is my advice to you tonight, stop trying and start trusting. I plead with you to do this because most people think they are good. I have a friend in Rolla, MO who says that about 95% of the people he asks if they are good respond yes. He asks more people than I do, but I’d say it’s closer to 99% for me. Most people think they are good.

Nice Problem

Ministry Update September 25, 2016

On Friday nights we typically pray, sing hymns, preach and sing hymns to end the night. But last Friday we couldn’t even get started praying at first because people were coming up to us and asking us questions. We had four or five one on one conversations before we even prayed! Now that’s a nice “problem” to have.  [Read more…]

What Is The Work Of God?

What Is the Work of God?

What is the work of God? Notice, I didn’t say the works of God. Many of us can name various works of God; such as when God made the heaven and the earth (Genesis 1:1) or when God made us human beings (Genesis 1:26-27). God made the angels and Hell for the devil and the fallen angels (even though Hell hath enlarged itself and people foolishly fall into it by dying in their sins – Isaiah 5:14). We can think of many works of God, but what is the singular work of God?  [Read more…]

I’m Catholic

Rich, Aaron and I joined some other evangelists from around the country the first of May and we witnessed at the Kentucky Derby. Many people went into Churchill Downs drunk and many, many more left the place totally drunk. But when we tried to get them to see their sinfulness and God’s Holiness we would ask them if they had been drinking and instead of admitting it, a lot of them said, no I’m Catholic.  [Read more…]

Three Minutes to Live!

December 16, 2011 by dennis@seekandsavethelost.com Leave a Comment

You are out driving on a country road and you come upon a bad accident. I’m alone in my car and I’ve run off the road where I hit a tree and a branch has impaled me. You are the first one to come upon the accident. You realize that an ambulance will never get to me in time. I’m bleeding badly and you estimate from my wound that I have three minutes to live. What do you say to me?  [Read more…]
