After Brian brought a message I preached after him. While I was on the box, Tim came up and asked Brian a ton of questions. I think he talked for 30 to 40 minutes. But one of his questions was why God doesn’t strike him dead when he curses God and challenges Him to kill him. He cursed God and challenged God to “smite me right now.” Since God didn’t kill him on the spot, Tim believes that proves God isn’t real. He doesn’t realize that it’s by God’s mercy alone that He doesn’t strike Tim dead this very moment.  [Read more…]

We heard four people yell hail Satan, had a flasher, a stool kicker and a reprobate mind on Friday night. Kelly started us off and he preached from Romans 1 when four different people yelled “Hail Satan” while he was preaching. He also received the typical calls “judge not lest ye be judged.” The funniest part about that was he actually addressed this right at the beginning of his message. One of the first things he said was if you feel judged tonight, we are not the ones judging you. If you feel like you are being judged it will be because of God’s word. Ministry Update November 27, 2016

“False, false, false.” “You are not God.” “Jesus didn’t write the Bible.” Yes, a couple Friday night actually chanted these things while I was preaching. Just to clear the record, I never said Jesus wrote the Bible, I said Jesus confirmed the Bible. Jesus constantly quoted the Old Testament. I obviously never claimed to be God. But their greatest sin was chanting false, false, false while I was reading the Bible. They even chanted this when I quoted John 3:16!  [Read more…]

I was the first one of our group on the square Friday night and two young people started talking to me. The young woman was asking spiritual questions, but the young man kept making vile and crude remarks. He was so bad she actually pulled him away and walked on. What a way to start the night and really hadn’t even started yet. But that’s how the night went; we had mockers from beginning to end.  [Read more…]

Drunk Lesbians Threaten To Beat Us Up

A couple of self-professing drunk lesbians threatened to beat up Aaron, Erica and myself. Erica and Aaron have both been jailed for their faith and Aaron has been punched several times by unrepentant sinners. I was going to call this update No!; but I decided on Ultimate No after witnessing downtown Friday night. Before I talk about Friday night though, I’ll start off telling you about witnessing at MSU last Wednesday. I started off handing out tracts that a friend gave me that he bought at the Shepherds Conference. I had 200 of them with me, but I only gave out 100. Many students said no thank you when I offered them a tract and others just said no.  [Read more…]

You Preach Hate

Even though it was Art Walk Friday night, it was below freezing and the crowds were low. Erica and I handed out tracts, sang a few hymns and I was on the box talking about The Buckle is Rusted when a young man yelled out “you are preaching hate.” I had to laugh and I replied “I haven’t even started reading the Bible yet. I’m talking about how sad it is that there are 900 kids in foster care in Greene County. How is that preaching hate?”  [Read more…]

Ministry Update November 8, 2015

“Aren’t all references to homosexuality in the Bible referring to rape?” asked Brandon. After talking to him for nearly an hour we got around to his sin that he doesn’t want to give up. Prior to this, he asked every question that he could think of. During our conversation, I kept trying to bring him back to the fact that he will stand before God on Judgment Day and none of these burning questions that he has today will matter at that time. He will give an account of every sin in thought, word or deed that he’s ever committed and questions about those who have never heard the Gospel will not be part of the discussion on the great and terrible day of the Lord.  [Read more…]

Friday night was a real blessing to witness downtown in Springfield, MO with my friends. Along with Aaron, Erica, Diana and Elise, we praise God that Anton joined us. He’s the man that was broken last weekend and he went to Aaron’s church last Sunday. Anton sung hymns with us and he stayed for the preaching and helped us carry our stuff back to our vehicles. Then he asked that they make sure that they pick him up for church this Sunday an hour early for discipleship training. Kelly’s friend Alexander also joined us again Friday night, even though Kelly couldn’t make it.  [Read more…]
