Bible

Unhitch

Unhitched

Unhitch

In May of this year, Andy Stanley suggested that Christians need to unhitch the Old Testament from their faith. Now recently in an interview, Andy Stanley tried to clarify what he meant by that statement. Unfortunately, his clarification is even worse than the original statement (and until I heard this, I didn’t think it was possible for Andy Stanley to make it worse).  [Read more…]

Ministry Update July 1, 2018

Praise God we had seven laborers witnessing downtown. Unfortunately, it was a slow night. There weren’t a lot of people downtown. But Kelly, Steven, Conner, Pastor Joshua, Rich, Dave and I still had a good time witnessing. We handed out a few tracts and had a few mockers. But Pastor Joshua had the best conversation of the night when he discussed with a teenager and his friends that knowing about Jesus is not the same as knowing Jesus and the teen said that he is unworthy to be saved.  [Read more…]

Is That A Bible In Your Hands?

Is That A Bible In Your Hands?

Ministry Update June 15, 2018

Pastor Joshua and I had a great time witnessing Friday night. It was not a circus-like atmosphere like the week before. In fact it was a pretty quiet night. Oh we had several mockers, but nothing major. One guy yelled at Pastor Joshua to shut up and then black smoke billowed out of the guy’s tailpipe as he drove away. A woman walking yelled at him and a couple of drivers yelled at me. But one car pulled up while I was bringing a message and it was a full carload of people. The driver leaned over and yelled, “Is that a Bible in your hands?”  [Read more…]

What Do You Idolize

What Do You Idolize?

Many people in America, especially young people, say they don’t believe in God. The religious group “none” is the fastest growing religious or supposedly none religious group of Millennials. But even if you claim no religious affiliation, you worship something today. You worship someone or something. So who do you idolize or what do you idolize?  [Read more…]

My Lord And My God

My Lord And My God

We just celebrated Easter the first of the month and Easter is also known as Resurrection Sunday. I personally like Resurrection Sunday because it more accurately describes why we celebrate the event. Followers of Jesus are celebrating that not only did Jesus suffer, bleed and die for our sins, but He also rose from the grave. We serve a risen Savior. Do you remember what the apostle Thomas said when he saw the risen Lord?  [Read more…]

How Do You Know The Christian God Is The Right One?

Ministry Update April 8, 2018

On Wednesday I witnessed at Missouri State University. Had a mocker or two and then Quinn the atheist buzzed by me. I told him that I’m talking to Christians this week about sharing the Gospel. But I invited him to come back next week and I would challenge his worldview. A few minutes later he came back and started reading Green Eggs and Ham out loud. It’s been several weeks since he’s come out to play.  [Read more…]

Young Man Wouldn’t Let Go Of The New Testament

Ministry Update April 1, 2018

Friday night before Thomas joined me witnessing downtown, I handed out several tracts. A group of guys all took tracts. One of the guys stopped and thanked me for being out there. He told me that his mom has been after him to get right with God. I told him that his mom is telling right, he needs to get right with God. Then surprisingly, the guy admitted to me that he is a drunk (his own words). I exhorted him that he needs to repent and trust Jesus (Galatians 5:21).  [Read more…]

I Don’t Know

I Don’t Know

Last Friday Jeff was open-air preaching and he engaged several people in conversation as they walked by. One question he liked to ask was: Where will you go if you die tonight? One guy said that he’d probably go to Hell and he thinks it will be a wonderful place. (Obviously he hasn’t read how the Bible describes Hell. There are no parties there, just pain and suffering. Weeping and gnashing of teeth). But when Jeff asked a couple of young women where they think they will go, both answered “I don’t know.”  [Read more…]

Does Good Deed Mean You Are A Good Person?

Ministry Update March 18, 2018

A couple were standing a few feet away from me while I was getting ready to open-air preach and I was waiting on Thomas. The woman wanted to go back and get her jacket. He said their friends were about to reach them, so she didn’t have time to get it. Then he took off his jacket and gave it to her. She kept saying no, but then she relented. I had some Are You A Good Person Tracts so I walked over to the guy and said that was a good deed that you did giving her your jacket, but are you a good person? To which he replied that he didn’t know about that. Then I handed him the tract and suggested that he check it out and see if he is a good person. About that time their friends showed up and they went on their way.  [Read more…]

Super Cold Super Bowl Outreach 2018

DJ and Blake at the Super Bowl Outreach 2018. Photos are not photo-shopped and this was on Saturday February 3, 2018 – the “warmest” of the three days.

Super Cold Super Bowl Outreach 2018

Super Bowl 52 was in Minneapolis, MN this year, in a domed stadium. But the Super Bowl Outreach was outdoors – Friday, Saturday and Sunday February 2nd through the 4th where it was a super cold Super Bowl Outreach. The mornings started out below zero with the wind chill making it feel like 25 below. It was the coldest weather that I personally have ever witnessed in before. But there were 50 evangelists from around the country that went to Minneapolis to share the glorious Gospel at the NFL Experience and the Super Bowl.  [Read more…]
