Ministry Update October 29, 2017

Friday night while I was bringing a message, Conner handed out tracts. He offered tracts to a group of young men and they refused the tracts, but one of them said “I like Jesus.” I like Jesus, just like saying I like the color red. No real emotion or anything. Have we become a society so used to social media that we just break everything down to what we like or dis-like? I didn’t hear the young man, but I suspect it wasn’t just like as in liking a Facebook post. I think the young man was indicating that he likes Jesus. That Jesus is alright by him.  [Read more…]

“Do you have a uterus?” asked the woman who pulled her SUV into Planned Parenthood’s parking lot. Yes, a woman drove into the parking lot just to ask, do you have a uterus. In other words, if my friends and I can’t have a baby then somehow that negates our right to stand against abortion. Hogwash. Life is precious and life is worth fighting for. The message tonight is about America. It is about the land of confusion. But before I get into that discussion, I want to talk about the original land of confusion, the tower of Babel. There was only one language before the tower of Babel was built. But God stopped men from building the tower. Encouraged

It was windy, but a warmer day on Wednesday when I witnessed in front of Planned Parenthood. I quoted Genesis 1:1. Then read the verses of the first chapter where God created the animals after their kind and man and woman after God’s own image. That’s when a woman pulled into the parking lot and walked up to me. I stopped reading Scripture and looked up at her. You never know if someone is a friend or a foe when they come up to you like that. But she smiled and shook my hand. She said something like may God bless you with many blessings. Just for being there in front of Planned Parenthood. I was greatly encouraged by that.  [Read more…]

Ministry Update January 8, 2017

On Wednesday Aaron and I witnessed at Planned Parenthood. There were several cars there when we got there. One lady leaving the shopping center next door yelled at me while I was bringing a message. She was our one mocker. I really couldn’t hear her very well, but I think she was saying that I was stupid because they don’t perform abortions at Planned Parenthood in Springfield. I told her they do give women the morning after pill and they refer them to St. Louis or Kansas City where abortions are performed. (Planned Parenthood performed abortions in Springfield 25 years ago and they are pushing to start doing them here again. God forbid! May it not be so.).  [Read more…]

Ministry Update: January 31, 2016

I witnessed at MSU last Wednesday and I usually preach first, then hand out tracts. The students who walk by first hear the preaching and the ones who walk by later receive the tracts. So this time I mixed it up. I started off handing out tracts. A friend from church gave me 100 Atheist Test tracts from The Way of the Master. It only took about 15 minutes to hand them out. The whole time I did this, there were four students standing in the free speech zone where we normally preach and they were holding up signs that said: Free Hugs. They didn’t bother me when I was handing out tracts.  [Read more…]
