While open-air preaching against abortion in downtown Springfield, Missouri Friday night, a woman walking with two guys across the street from me shouted, “You don’t have a uterus.” If I had been thinking quicker, I should have replied, “How do you know I don’t identify as a woman?” But instead, I told her that you don’t need a uterus to know that killing a baby in the womb is wrong. Happiness Or Joy?

My favorite part of the United States Declaration of Independence is: “We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.” I love how the signers mention the Creator (God) and that everyone is created equal and we have the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. No One’s Listening To You

A student turned the corner in front of me on Wednesday at MSU and yelled, “No one’s listening to you.” I ignored him, so he turned around and yelled it again and this time I ignored him as well. This comment is nothing new. Mockers love to discourage the Gospel going forth. But even if they are right and “no one is listening” the Gospel is still going forth. God’s word does not return void (Isaiah 55:11). Those whose hearts are being softened by the Lord are being softened and those whose hearts are being hardened are being hardened. Jesus Christ is glorified either way. Of course my hope and prayer is that lost souls will be saved, that they will repent and trust Jesus. [Read more…]

I brought a message on Wednesday at Missouri State University about how life is precious and God makes all of us in His very image. I pleaded with young women that if they find themselves pregnant this year to not kill the baby and I also pleaded with young men to not coerce women into having an abortion if they get a young woman pregnant. You don’t add sin upon sin and you don’t murder a child; that is an abomination to Almighty God. Surprisingly, I had two encouragers while bringing the message. A man walked behind me and encouraged me to keep going. A short while later a student walked past me, turned around and said Amen. [Read more…]

I Knew You

God told the prophet Jeremiah, “Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you; I appointed you a prophet to the nations.” (Jeremiah 1:5). What an amazing sentence. Almighty God, the great Creator of the universe told Jeremiah that He knew Jeremiah BEFORE God formed him in his mother’s womb. What a wonderful verse in the Bible. Pastor Joshua and I had a great time witnessing Friday night. It was not a circus-like atmosphere like the week before. In fact it was a pretty quiet night. Oh we had several mockers, but nothing major. One guy yelled at Pastor Joshua to shut up and then black smoke billowed out of the guy’s tailpipe as he drove away. A woman walking yelled at him and a couple of drivers yelled at me. But one car pulled up while I was bringing a message and it was a full carload of people. Conner, Kelly and I were handing out tracts Friday night before we started open-air preaching. I tried to hand tracts to two guys walking by and they refused the offer. I asked the one guy where he’d go if he died tonight. He replied, “I’m not going anywhere you are concerned.” The three of us just looked at each other. The gentleman couldn’t have been more wrong. My wife and I witnessed at Planned Parenthood on Wednesday and a pro-murder young man was angry over the Gospel being proclaimed in front of the abortion clinic. He was wearing a Subway cap and shirt and looked like he was walking to work. The young man became enraged while walking by on the other side of the road. He yelled something, but I couldn’t hear him. But obviously I could see when he raised both arms in the air and gave me one finger salutes on each hand.
