When my youngest daughter gets into trouble she says “sawree”. What she is trying to say is that she’s sorry, but she says it quickly, flippantly and with no real feelings or meaning. Repentance means more than just saying your sorry. True repentance is more than saying your sorry and really meaning it. True repentance means turning away from your sins and turning toward God.
How do you show God true repentance? Do you have godly sorrow that works repentance to salvation or do you have worldly sorrow that will eventually lead you to eternal separation from God in a very real place called Hell? Since God knows your heart and He sees your thought life, it takes more than lip service to truly repent. To repent means to forsake your sins; to leave them behind you.
2 Corinthians 7:10 says for godly sorrow works repentance to salvation not to be repented of: but the sorrow of the world works death. True godly repentance is turning 180 degrees away from your sins and turning toward God. It is putting your faith in Jesus to save you from your sins by trusting in Him completely and surrendering your life fully to Him. In Acts 20:21 we are told that we need to have repentance toward God and faith toward our Lord Jesus Christ. Won’t you truly repent from your sins today and quit trusting in your own self by putting your trust fully and wholly in Jesus?

I am guilty 🙁

Admitting this is a great step. Most people proclaim themselves good in their own eyes. Are you saved? Are you seeking God? What are you doing now that you’ve admitted your guilt?
