There’s only One who is Prophet, Priest and King. Jesus Christ is the only One who fills all three positions. Not the pope, not the president, not the health, wealth and prosperity false teachers, only Jesus. He is the One. He is the Prophet. He is the High Priest. He is the King. There is no other.
Moses said that God would raise up a prophet. Please listen to these words found in Deuteronomy 18:14-22: For these nations, which thou shalt possess, hearkened unto observers of times, and unto diviners: but as for thee, the Lord thy God hath not suffered thee so to do. The Lord thy God will raise up unto thee a Prophet from the midst of thee, of thy brethren, like unto me; unto him ye shall hearken;
According to all that thou desiredst of the Lord thy God in Horeb in the day of the assembly, saying, Let me not hear again the voice of the Lord my God, neither let me see this great fire any more, that I die not. And the Lord said unto me, They have well spoken that which they have spoken. I will raise them up a Prophet from among their brethren, like unto thee, and will put my words in his mouth; and he shall speak unto them all that I shall command him.
And it shall come to pass, that whosoever will not hearken unto my words which he shall speak in my name, I will require it of him. But the prophet, which shall presume to speak a word in my name, which I have not commanded him to speak, or that shall speak in the name of other gods, even that prophet shall die. And if thou say in thine heart, How shall we know the word which the Lord hath not spoken? When a prophet speaketh in the name of the Lord, if the thing follow not, nor come to pass, that is the thing which the Lord hath not spoken, but the prophet hath spoken it presumptuously: thou shalt not be afraid of him.
Peter reaffirms this in the New Testament. Acts 3:18-26 states: But those things, which God before had shewed by the mouth of all his prophets, that Christ should suffer, he hath so fulfilled. Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord. And he shall send Jesus Christ, which before was preached unto you:
Whom the heaven must receive until the times of restitution of all things, which God hath spoken by the mouth of all his holy prophets since the world began. For Moses truly said unto the fathers, A prophet shall the Lord your God raise up unto you of your brethren, like unto me; him shall ye hear in all things whatsoever he shall say unto you.
And it shall come to pass, that every soul, which will not hear that prophet, shall be destroyed from among the people. Yea, and all the prophets from Samuel and those that follow after, as many as have spoken, have likewise foretold of these days. Ye are the children of the prophets, and of the covenant which God made with our fathers, saying unto Abraham, And in thy seed shall all the kindreds of the earth be blessed. Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.
All The Prophets Pointed to Jesus
Peter tells us that the other prophets pointed to Jesus Christ. He is the one who was prophesied that He would suffer for guilty sinners. Isaiah 53:3-12 foretold about the coming Messiah: He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Surely he hath borne our griefs, and carried our sorrows: yet we did esteem him stricken, smitten of God, and afflicted. But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the Lord hath laid on him the iniquity of us all. He was oppressed, and he was afflicted, yet he opened not his mouth: he is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, so he openeth not his mouth. He was taken from prison and from judgment: and who shall declare his generation? for he was cut off out of the land of the living: for the transgression of my people was he stricken.
And he made his grave with the wicked, and with the rich in his death; because he had done no violence, neither was any deceit in his mouth. Yet it pleased the Lord to bruise him; he hath put him to grief: when thou shalt make his soul an offering for sin, he shall see his seed, he shall prolong his days, and the pleasure of the Lord shall prosper in his hand.
He shall see of the travail of his soul, and shall be satisfied: by his knowledge shall my righteous servant justify many; for he shall bear their iniquities. Therefore will I divide him a portion with the great, and he shall divide the spoil with the strong; because he hath poured out his soul unto death: and he was numbered with the transgressors; and he bare the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors.
Jesus bore our sins. He was bruised for our iniquities. By His stripes we are healed. God poured His wrath over our sins upon His own sinless Son, in order that we might live – that we might have eternal life. Peter was very straightforward in Acts 3:19 about what our response should be: Repent ye therefore, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out, when the times of refreshing shall come from the presence of the Lord.
Jesus is the promised Prophet. He is the Savior. He is the Messiah and unless you repent and put your faith in Him, you will perish. Don’t foolishly die in your sins. Surrender your life to Jesus. He is the promised Prophet. He is the One who was sent to save His people from their sins. You become one of His people through repentance and faith. Repent ye, and be converted, that your sins may be blotted out. Without repentance and faith in Jesus, you are retaining your sins. You are telling God that you are going to do it your way and not surrender to the only way of Life. Jesus is the Way.
Jesus is the High Priest
In addition to being the Prophet, Jesus is also the High Priest. Because He suffered, bled and died on the cross and rose from the grave, He is the Savior. He is the only One who makes intercession on behalf of believers to God the Father. He was the propitiation for our sins. He bore our sins and God sees us as righteous only through the righteousness of Jesus. But again, you must turn from your sins and turn to the only sacrifice that is acceptable and pleasing to God – the sacrifice of Jesus Christ.
Jesus is the High Priest. The priest Melchizedek is mentioned in Genesis 14. And when Abram heard that his brother was taken captive, he armed his trained servants, born in his own house, three hundred and eighteen, and pursued them unto Dan. And he divided himself against them, he and his servants, by night, and smote them, and pursued them unto Hobah, which is on the left hand of Damascus.
And he brought back all the goods, and also brought again his brother Lot, and his goods, and the women also, and the people. And the king of Sodom went out to meet him after his return from the slaughter of Chedorlaomer, and of the kings that were with him, at the valley of Shaveh, which is the king’s dale.
And Melchizedek king of Salem brought forth bread and wine: and he was the priest of the most high God. And he blessed him, and said, Blessed be Abram of the most high God, possessor of heaven and earth: And blessed be the most high God, which hath delivered thine enemies into thy hand. And he gave him tithes of all.
Psalm 110:1-4 describes Jesus as Lord and Priest. The Lord said unto my Lord, Sit thou at my right hand, until I make thine enemies thy footstool. The Lord shall send the rod of thy strength out of Zion: rule thou in the midst of thine enemies. Thy people shall be willing in the day of thy power, in the beauties of holiness from the womb of the morning: thou hast the dew of thy youth. The Lord hath sworn, and will not repent, Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek.
Jesus is the high priest. Hebrews 4:14-16 says: Seeing then that we have a great high priest, that is passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God, let us hold fast our profession. For we have not an high priest which cannot be touched with the feeling of our infirmities; but was in all points tempted like as we are, yet without sin. Let us therefore come boldly unto the throne of grace, that we may obtain mercy, and find grace to help in time of need.
Hebrews 9:12-14 states: Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption for us. For if the blood of bulls and of goats, and the ashes of an heifer sprinkling the unclean, sanctifieth to the purifying of the flesh: How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
Jesus is the perfect, sinless Son of God and He sacrificed His life, that we might live. He suffered, bled and died for guilty sinners who turn from their sins and turn to Him. Turn from your dead works and serve the living God. Jesus is the great High Priest. He is the only mediator between man and God the Father. Trust in His sacrifice – His one-time sacrifice. Repent tonight and believe the glorious Gospel of Jesus Christ our Lord.
Jesus is the King
In addition to being the Prophet and Priest, Jesus is also King. Psalm 2:1-12: Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us. He that sitteth in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision.
Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure. Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion. I will declare the decree: the Lord hath said unto me, Thou art my Son; this day have I begotten thee. Ask of me, and I shall give thee the heathen for thine inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for thy possession.
Thou shalt break them with a rod of iron; thou shalt dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel. Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.
There is no king, but King Jesus. For the Lord is our judge, the Lord is our lawgiver, the Lord is our king; he will save us (Isaiah 33:22). Psalm 24:9-10 says: Lift up your heads, O ye gates; even lift them up, ye everlasting doors; and the King of glory shall come in. Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, he is the King of glory.
Jesus Christ is the King of kings and the Lord of lords. And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, King Of Kings, And Lord Of Lords (Revelation 19:16). Revelation 17:14 states: These shall make war with the Lamb, and the Lamb shall overcome them: for he is Lord of lords, and King of kings: and they that are with him are called, and chosen, and faithful.
Jesus came to earth 2,000 years ago as a lamb to the slaughter, but He’s coming back next time as a lion. He is the only Savior. He is the only Way to get back right with God. Oh, put your trust in Him. Trust the King of kings and the Lord of lords. Bow your knee, confess with your tongue that Jesus Christ is Lord. Be saved tonight. Don’t wait until Judgment Day to acknowledge the risen Savior. It will be too late on the great and terrible day of the Lord. Repent and put your trust in the Prophet, in the Priest and the King. Turn from your sins and surrender your life to King Jesus and receive everlasting life. Do this tonight and be saved. And it shall come to pass, that whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved (Acts 2:21).
