No More Spirit Left
I was reading 1 Kings 10 the other day about the Queen of Sheba meeting King Solomon (the king of Israel). She had heard all about the king’s splendor and how the LORD showered blessings upon Solomon and upon Israel at the time.
1 Kings 10:1-5 says: And when the queen of Sheba heard of the fame of Solomon concerning the name of the Lord, she came to prove him with hard questions. And she came to Jerusalem with a very great train, with camels that bare spices, and very much gold, and precious stones: and when she was come to Solomon, she communed with him of all that was in her heart.
And Solomon told her all her questions: there was not any thing hid from the king, which he told her not. And when the queen of Sheba had seen all Solomon’s wisdom, and the house that he had built, And the meat of his table, and the sitting of his servants, and the attendance of his ministers, and their apparel, and his cupbearers, and his ascent by which he went up unto the house of the Lord; there was no more spirit in her.
No More Spirit Left In Her
There was no more spirit left in her. This means that she was overwhelmed, breathless, astonished, amazed at what she had seen and heard. She had heard about the LORD and about Solomon, but later on she says that she was only told half of what she now saw and heard. Again, she was overwhelmed by everything.
Even though there was no more spirit in her meant that she was amazed, recently when I read these verses, it occurred to me that each and every one of us have a spirit within us. Those of us who have been born-again, have the Holy Spirit living inside us. We have peace, joy, love and life eternal. Hallelujah!
Oh, but those of you who do not know the Lord, those of you who have not been born-again, those of you who have not repented and put your trust in Jesus, you have a different spirit within you. You have the spirit of disobedience, the spirit of rebellion, the spirit of rejection and the spirit of anti-Christ.
Spirit of Disobedience
If you are out here tonight and you have not repented and surrendered your life to Jesus Christ, you are still disobeying God. All sin is disobedience to God. Those of you who remain in your sins, unconfessed and unforsaken, are continuing to obey Satan and you are disobeying God! This should bother you tonight. You are disobeying the great God of Heaven and earth. You are willfully living contrary to the Lord.
Titus 1:15-16 states: Unto the pure all things are pure: but unto them that are defiled and unbelieving is nothing pure; but even their mind and conscience is defiled. They profess that they know God; but in works they deny him, being abominable, and disobedient, and unto every good work reprobate.
Listen to Ephesians 2:2-3: Wherein in time past ye walked according to the course of this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the spirit that now worketh in the children of disobedience: Among whom also we all had our conversation in times past in the lusts of our flesh, fulfilling the desires of the flesh and of the mind; and were by nature the children of wrath, even as others.
Ephesians 5:3-6 says: But fornication, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not be once named among you, as becometh saints; Neither filthiness, nor foolish talking, nor jesting, which are not convenient: but rather giving of thanks. For this ye know, that no whoremonger, nor unclean person, nor covetous man, who is an idolater, hath any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God.
Let no man deceive you with vain words: for because of these things cometh the wrath of God upon the children of disobedience.
Spirit of Rebellion
Those who have not repented and believed on the Lord Jesus are also rebels against God. All sin is rebellion against God. He ruleth by his power for ever; his eyes behold the nations: let not the rebellious exalt themselves. Selah (Psalm 66:7). We have transgressed and have rebelled: thou hast not pardoned (Lamentations 3:42). But thou, son of man, hear what I say unto thee; Be not thou rebellious like that rebellious house: open thy mouth, and eat that I give thee (Ezekiel 2:8). Oh, don’t continue in your rebellion against God. Repent and trust Jesus.
Don’t continue rejecting Jesus Christ. Submit to King Jesus while you still can. In John 12:46-48 Jesus says: I am come a light into the world, that whosoever believeth on me should not abide in darkness. And if any man hear my words, and believe not, I judge him not: for I came not to judge the world, but to save the world. He that rejecteth me, and receiveth not my words, hath one that judgeth him: the word that I have spoken, the same shall judge him in the last day.
He is despised and rejected of men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not (Isaiah 53:3). The Jewish leaders and many Jewish people rejected Jesus when He walked this earth. Jews and Gentiles alike reject Him today. Many people believe lie after lie in the classroom or lie after lie on the internet, but they reject the only Savior of mankind. Only Jesus saves.
Spirit of Anti-Christ
Maybe, just maybe you are out here tonight and you have the spirit of anti-Christ. We had a vile man last Friday that was very anti-Christ. In fact, he was so anti-Christ that he denied that Jesus was even real. Our calendar is based on the life and death of Christ. Jesus was predicted in the Old Testament (through the power of the Holy Spirit) and He’s talked about throughout the New Testament. The Old Testament pointed to the sacrificial death of Jesus to save mankind. The New Testament tells about His suffering, bleeding and dying on the cross for the sins of the world. It also tells us about His resurrection!
But anyone who denies the deity of Jesus Christ, is anti-Christ. Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son. Whosoever denieth the Son, the same hath not the Father: he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also (1 John 2:22-23).
Hereby know ye the Spirit of God: Every spirit that confesseth that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is of God: And every spirit that confesseth not that Jesus Christ is come in the flesh is not of God: and this is that spirit of antichrist, whereof ye have heard that it should come; and even now already is it in the world (1 John 4:2-3).
Are You Anti-Christ?
Oh tonight, are you anti-Christ? Do you deny that Jesus Christ was a real person? He left Heaven and came to this earth 2,000 years ago. He was born of the virgin Mary and the Holy Spirit. Yes, He was fully God and fully man. Do you deny that Jesus was in the flesh and came from God? If so, then you are anti-Christ!
Oh, you may laugh and joke tonight; you may even say hail Satan and other vile things, but one day you will laugh no more. Whatsoever a man sows, that shall he also reap. God will not be mocked. One day He will remove His general grace from you and you will split Hell wide open. I assure you that you won’t be laughing then. You won’t be anti-Christ then. You will know that Christ is real and that He is the only begotten Son of God and that because of your disobedience, rebellion, rejection and anti-Christ spirit, you will end up in Hell, where you deserve to go.
May God Convict You Over Your Sins
We don’t want you to continue barreling down the broad road to destruction (Matthew 7:13-14). Our desire is for God to convict you over your sins, your rebellion against God and that you would turn from your sins and turn to Jesus. That you would be born-again.
You need to be saved. You need to confess and forsake your sins. You need to repent and surrender your life to Jesus. There needs to be no more spirit of disobedience, rebellion, rejection or anti-Christ within. You need to be like the Queen of Sheba and there be no more spirit left in you.
Is there one lost soul out here tonight who’s tired of living contrary to God? Is there one of you that’s sick and tired of all the pain and misery that comes from seeking the pleasures of the flesh? Aren’t you tired of the lies, drama, deceit and destruction? Isn’t there one lost person who is convicted over this sins and can see God’s Holiness and His righteousness?
Ye Must Be Born-Again
Jesus said you must be born-again. John 3:1-16 states: There was a man of the Pharisees, named Nicodemus, a ruler of the Jews: The same came to Jesus by night, and said unto him, Rabbi, we know that thou art a teacher come from God: for no man can do these miracles that thou doest, except God be with him. Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother’s womb, and be born? Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit. Marvel not that I said unto thee, Ye must be born again.
The wind bloweth where it listeth, and thou hearest the sound thereof, but canst not tell whence it cometh, and whither it goeth: so is every one that is born of the Spirit. Nicodemus answered and said unto him, How can these things be? Jesus answered and said unto him, Art thou a master of Israel, and knowest not these things? Verily, verily, I say unto thee, We speak that we do know, and testify that we have seen; and ye receive not our witness.
If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things? And no man hath ascended up to heaven, but he that came down from heaven, even the Son of man which is in heaven. And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, even so must the Son of man be lifted up:
That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life. For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
We want you to be born-again. Surrender your life to Jesus. Stop rebelling against God. Quit rejecting Christ. Repent and submit to the Lord Jesus. Turn from your sins and turn to Jesus. Repent and believe the Gospel. Do this before it’s too late. If you don’t, be forewarned: God’s angers abides upon you. He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him (John 3:36).
God’s anger, His righteous wrath abides upon you if you are not saved. Don’t die in your sins and suffer everlasting torments for your sins. Call upon the precious name of Jesus and be saved. Surrender your life to Christ and be born-again. Receive a new spirit within you, the Holy Spirit. Ye must be born-again. Repent and trust Jesus. Do this tonight.
