I posted back in October 2010 that my wife and I started a new career in publishing. We published two books – Parenting Moment by Moment by Carla MacLachlan and Night of the Cossack by Tom Blubaugh. We are very pleased with the way both of these books turned out.
Prior to the publishing business, I had been in the mortgage business for 25 years. I love the publishing business and my wife and I hope to continue publishing Christian books as well as books that promote family values. But the publishing business isn’t covering the cost of publishing books.
So I am back in the lending business and I have a new job. I am relating all of this to you because I can honestly say that I don’t understand God’s ways. I posted this verse back in October: …says the Lord, “For as the heavens are higher than the earth, So are My ways higher than your ways. Isaiah 55:9 (NKJV). This verse is still true and I still don’t understand God’s ways. I am totally convinced that God wanted my wife and I to start Bound by Faith Publishers last August and I am equally convinced that He wants me to be a loan officer again.
I don’t understand God’s ways, but the wonderful thing is that I don’t have to understand it. Job 36:26 states, “Behold, God is great, and we know him not, neither can the number of his years be searched out.”
Just knowing that I am where God wants me to be is enough. Proverbs 16:9 says, “A man’s heart devises his ways: but the Lord directs his steps. I am very happy with my new job and I am confident that I am right where God wants me to be. I pray that you have the same peace from God about your job.
