Much Quieter Night
Ministry Update January 5, 2019
Friday night witnessing was a much quieter night than the Friday before. I’m thankful that it wasn’t full of crazy and angry people. But the downside was that it was too quiet. There were absolutely no mockers and no encouragers. I had just mentioned to a really good friend on Thursday how tough apathy is in street witnessing. You know mockers hear you and you know supporters hear you. But when people say nothing good or bad, it’s tough. My friend agreed and he knew exactly what I was talking about because he is involved in jail ministry and sometimes he encounters the same thing. Sometimes the men in jail seem engaged and ask good questions. Other times they just sit silently and say nothing.
No Reaction To Open-Air Preaching And Not Much Reaction To Tracts
Typically, the cold weather doesn’t keep people from coming downtown. So I don’t know if the weather was a factor or not, but there weren’t a lot of people milling around Friday night. Not only was there no reaction to the open-air preaching, there wasn’t much reaction to Gospel tracts either. I literally only handed out a few of them. May God bless the seeds that were planted Friday night. He calls us to share the Gospel, whether there’s few or many. Christians share the Gospel and God does the saving. And the lord said unto the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel them to come in, that my house may be filled (Luke 14:23).
(These updates are given to encourage Christians to share the Gospel with others. If you don’t know how to share your faith, I highly encourage you to check out Livingwaters.com. They have Gospel tracts available for $6.00 for 100. Or you can go to ChapelLibrary.org and they will send you tracts for free.)
