Look And Believe
The very first message that Jesus preached, He said “Repent and believe the Gospel.” Romans 10:9-10 says: That if you shall confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus, and shall believe in your heart that God hath raised him from the dead, you shall be saved. For with the heart man believes unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation.
In John 6:40, Jesus says: “For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who looks on the Son and believes in him should have eternal life, and I will raise him up on the last day.” Look and believe. Look to the Son – Jesus Christ for salvation. Look to the only Savior of mankind.
Don’t look to yourself. Don’t look at false gods and don’t worship the created rather than the Creator. Many people are more concerned about the earth and climate change than they are about God. The earth can’t save you.
In the end, the earth will be burned up. But the day of the Lord will come as a thief in the night; in the which the heavens shall pass away with a great noise, and the elements shall melt with fervent heat, the earth also and the works that are therein shall be burned up (2 Peter 3:10).
Look And Believe On Jesus To Save You!
Look on the Son to save you. Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually (Psalm 105:4)! Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good! Blessed is the man who takes refuge in him! Oh, fear the Lord, you his saints, for those who fear him have no lack! The young lions suffer want and hunger; but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing (Psalm 34:10).
Oh give thanks to the Lord; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the peoples! Sing to him, sing praises to him; tell of all his wondrous works! Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice! Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually (1 Chronicles 16:8-11)!
Folks, seek the Lord, see the Lord. Look to the Lord for salvation. Not only look to the Lord, but believe in Jesus Christ the Lord. Then he brought them out and said, “Sirs, what must I do to be saved?” And they said, “Believe in the Lord Jesus, and you will be saved, you and your household.” And they spoke the word of the Lord to him and to all who were in his house (Acts 16:30-31).
Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever hears my word and believes him who sent me has eternal life. He does not come into judgment, but has passed from death to life (John 5:24).
So Must The Son Of Man Be Lifted Up
And as Moses lifted up the serpent in the wilderness, so must the Son of Man be lifted up, that whoever believes in him may have eternal life.“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life.
For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him. Whoever believes in him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only Son of God (John 3:14-18).
Truly, truly, I say to you, whoever believes has eternal life (John 6:47). Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life; whoever does not obey the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God remains on him (John 3:36). (Jesus) I told you that you would die in your sins, for unless you believe that I am he you will die in your sins (John 8:24).
Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God, and everyone who loves the Father loves whoever has been born of him. By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God and obey his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments. And his commandments are not burdensome.
True Believers Overcome The World
For everyone who has been born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world—our faith. Who is it that overcomes the world except the one who believes that Jesus is the Son of God?
This is he who came by water and blood—Jesus Christ; not by the water only but by the water and the blood. And the Spirit is the one who testifies, because the Spirit is the truth.
For there are three that testify: the Spirit and the water and the blood; and these three agree. If we receive the testimony of men the testimony of God is greater, for this is the testimony of God that he has borne concerning his Son.
Whoever believes in the Son of God has the testimony in himself. Whoever does not believe God has made him a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has borne concerning his Son. And this is the testimony, that God gave us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life. I write these things to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, that you may know that you have eternal life (1 John 5:1-13).
Look And Believe In The Lord Jesus
Believe in the Lord Jesus. Look to Christ Jesus for salvation. Oh, look at yourself as God sees you – as the rebel that you are. We have all sinned against God. There is none righteous, no not one. Don’t continue thinking that you are good. The only one that’s good is God (Luke 18:19).
How many lies have you told in your life? Have you ever lusted? Looked at pornography? Maybe you’ve committed adultery or you have been sexually immoral. Anyone or anything that you love more than you love God is an idol. Have you always obeyed your parents? Have you ever stolen anything, if it was something small?
Folks, if you are honest with yourself, you know that you have broken the 10 Commandments. James says if you break one commandment, you have broken them all. But let’s face it, we’ve all sinned so much worse than committing one sin. We all have a mountain of sin debt that we can’t get rid of. You can’t hide it, bury it or get rid of it on your own.
What can wash away my sin? Nothing but the blood of Jesus. That’s right, nothing can take away your sins except the shed blood of Jesus Christ the Lord. He is the propitiation for our sins. Propitiation means the wrath of God was satisfied. God’s righteous, right and Holy anger over sin was poured out upon the sinless Son of God as Jesus hung on the cross.
But this doesn’t mean that there is universal salvation. Not everyone is saved because Jesus died for sinners. Jesus death, burial and resurrection is not a license for people to sin. Christ Jesus came to seek and save the lost (Luke 19:10). Jesus came to save His people from their sins (Matthew 1:18).
Does God’s Wrath Abide Upon You?
If you are not one of His; if you have never repented of your sins and put your faith in Jesus, then the guilt your sins remains upon you. He that believes on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believes not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abides on him (John 3:36).
Don’t look to yourself for salvation. Don’t count on your own goodness to save you because you don’t have any. Outside of Jesus Christ, I have no goodness in me. You can’t wipe out one little sin, let alone save yourself from the wrath of God over all the sins you have committed in your life. You need to look to Christ Jesus for salvation and you must believe in Jesus Christ the Lord. Believe in the only Savior. There is no other.
Repent and believe the Gospel. Believe in the Lord Jesus with all your heart, soul and mind. Trust in the risen Lord and His finished work on the cross. Be saved today. Repent and believe in Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Today is the day of salvation (2 Corinthians 6:2). If God is convicting you over your sins and revealing His Holiness, repent and trust Jesus. Don’t put it off.
Receive eternal life; enjoy the abundant life of Christ Jesus. He will walk with you through the rest of this life and then you will spend eternity with our Lord. Join those of us who are truly saved in worshiping Jesus now and who are looking forward to praising and worshiping our Lord and Savior forever. All praise, honor and glory belongs to the Lord Jesus, now and forevermore.
