We’ve all seen the TV commercials where they say, “Act now, this limited time offer won’t last long.” Then you see the same infomercial on TV for the next six months, if not years. So they really aren’t a limited time offer.
There is an offer that we have that truly is a limited time offer and that is the offer of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ. How can I say that? Because even if you live, 80, 90 or 100 years, your time on this earth is limited. 1 Peter 1:24 says “For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of grass. The grass withers, and the flower thereof falls away.” James 4:14 explains “Whereas you know not what shall be on the morrow. For what is your life? It is even a vapor, that appears for a little time, and then vanishes away.”
Eternity is a really, really long time. It is everlasting. It never ends. You have two choices: Heaven or Hell. The only way to get to Heaven is through Jesus the Christ. Jesus is the way, the only way. If you are trusting in your own goodness, your own good works to save you when you stand before God on Judgment Day, you won’t make it. You can’t meet God’s perfect standard – the 10 Commandments. Jesus is the only One who walked this earth and didn’t sin one time, thereby keeping all 10 Commandments. He suffered and died on the cross for guilty sinners. Then He rose from the dead on the third day, defeating death, Hell and Satan.
Here’s where the offer comes in. It isn’t good enough to just know these facts. Salvation is the free gift from God. Romans 6:23 states “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” You must accept this gift, you have to receive this gift if you want eternal life. Turn away from your sins and put your trust in Jesus.
The reason salvation is a limited time offer is because none of us know when we are going to die. 150,000 people die every day. None of us expect today to be our last day on this earth, but it is for some of us. This wonderful offer, the offer of salvation, this free gift from God is only available while we are still alive. Don’t put this off. Accept this gift today. Repent and put your faith in our Lord Jesus Christ. Today is the day of salvation. Accept this amazing free gift. This limited time offer won’t last forever.
