Hot Preaching!
Ministry Update July 8, 2018
It is a real privilege and honor to lift up the name of Jesus in the open-air with Kelly, Conner and Pastor Joshua and it’s been great having Rich join us witnessing while he’s visiting from China. Every now and then we get accused of being too harsh and preaching too hard. But Friday night I believe we had Spirit-filled, hot preaching.
All five of us did open-air preaching, but Pastor Joshua had the “hottest” time. While he was preaching about the certainty of death, a guy rode up on a scooter. The scooter guy then proceeded to light a whole pack of firecrackers and threw them behind Pastor Joshua and rode off. Praise God, Pastor Joshua didn’t let it stop him. He just stepped forward a little and kept preaching and didn’t let the noise bother him at all.
Truth And Opinion
Later on, Kelly had two couples that really mocked him as they walked by. Kelly tried to sincerely engage them in a Gospel conversation, but three of them really just wanted to mock and walk on. They didn’t want to hear God’s truth. One of the guys stopped and yelled at Conner who was handing out tracts across the street. Conner tried to share truth with the man, but the guy just wanted to express his opinions. After his friends walked about a block away, they came back and drug their friend away.
We also had Mark, Karl and Rachel join us handing out tracts. After a while they went to the square where a band was playing for Art Walk and they handed out a lot of tracts. Kelly was a tracting machine at our usual spot. I believe he handed out over 50 tracts throughout the night. Then Conner, Kelly, Steven and I ended the night singing a few hymns. Evidently the Springfield Cardinals won their game Friday night because fireworks from the stadium were going off while we were singing songs to end the night. May God bless the singing, tracts and open-air preaching. Our prayer is that God will convict and convert lost souls who received tracts and/or heard the glorious Gospel.
