Hell’s Best Kept Secret CD’s
Ministry Update September 2, 2018
On Wednesday, ten of us handed out 1,240 Hell’s Best Kept Secret CD’s at Missouri State University during the lunch hour. Praise God, that He held the rain off. On Monday, the weather app was calling for 80% chance of rain and possibility of hail for Wednesday morning. But the sky was clear for the first 45 minutes and then it only sprinkled a little after that.
I thank God that Carla, Randy, Laura, Jeff and his two kids, Greg, Vinton and Connie all helped with this outreach. Praise God that Carla, Laura, Greg and Jeff all got into Gospel conversations. I heard Laura ask one young man what the cross that he was wearing meant to him. This is a great question. Carla shared truth with some professors as well as students. Greg talked to a young man and two of his friends came up to listen also, so they heard the Gospel in person as well as receiving the CD’s. Then at the very end of the outreach Jeff was talking to an atheist.
Quinn (the atheist that typically reads Green Eggs And Ham while I’m open-air preaching) skated up to me, but he refused to take a CD. He did comment on how there were so many more people out with me that day. We pray that God will bless the conversations, the CD’s, that God will prompt students to listen to them. That He will save lost souls and may the CD’s encourage true believers on how to share their faith in Jesus biblically and boldly for the praise and honor of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, the Son of the living God.
Hail Satan
Friday night Pastor Joshua, Thomas and I witnessed downtown. It was a quieter night than the week before. Pastor Joshua had one heckler, but I couldn’t hear what the mocker said. Maybe because it was a slow night or something, I had one heckler that circled around three times. He just kept saying “Hail Satan” as he drove by. I was really tempted to suggest that he come up with something different to say, but I didn’t. One time when he said it, I was talking about how people that think they are going to party in Hell have no clue how horrible Hell really is. There are no parties in Hell and people in Hell are not getting drunk or high or doing anything like that. They are suffering torments like they never knew existed.
Why Do Street Evangelism?
While I was open-air preaching, one young man stopped to listen. Then another guy heard all of Pastor Joshua’s and my messages. Also, while I was bringing a message, a young couple stopped and talked to Pastor Joshua. They were curious why we were doing street evangelism. He explained that we believe the Bible. When Romans 10:17 says faith comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God, we believe this (and we do and this is one of the reasons that compels us to lift up the name of Jesus in the open). They seemed to understand this and they encouraged him by praying right there on the spot with him for our street witnessing.
When I left later that night, Thomas was still in a conversation with a man. Thomas also handed a tract to a person that he knew. He gave a tract to the man and the woman that was with him. I asked one guy that took a tract where he would go if he died tonight. He admitted that he didn’t know. So I asked if he time to talk for a minute, but he said he didn’t, that he had to get to work. He was wearing a shirt that said security, so I think he was heading to work a concert. All I could do was yell after him to read the tract that was in his hand; that he could know for sure where he’s going after he dies. May God bless the open-air preaching, the conversations and the Gospel tracts. May the Lord save lost souls as only He can do.
