Hail Satan, Flasher, Stool Kicker and a Reprobate Mind
Ministry Update December 4, 2016
We heard four people yell hail Satan, had a flasher, a stool kicker and a reprobate mind on Friday night. Kelly started us off and he preached from Romans 1 when four different people yelled “Hail Satan” while he was preaching. He also received the typical calls “judge not lest ye be judged.” The funniest part about that was he actually addressed this right at the beginning of his message. One of the first things he said was if you feel judged tonight, we are not the ones judging you. If you feel like you are being judged it will be because of God’s word. It didn’t stop several of them from getting upset.
Flasher
After Kelly preached, Erica, Diana, Elise, Serenity, Kelly and I sang a couple of Christmas carols. Then I brought a message about how salvation is by the grace of God. A woman walked up to me while I was on the box and she started lifting her top up, so I quickly held my Bible up in front of my face so I wouldn’t see her. the Sword of the Lord that I was holding in my hand was used as a defensive weapon as well as on offensive weapon.
A little while later Kelly got into a conversation with a guy who thought we were doing evangelism the wrong way. I think Erica talked to a woman too, maybe about the same thing. While I was still preaching, a guy walked up and tried to kick the stool out from under me. He made a weak attempt, but kept walking. We had several mockers walk by us as well as motorcycles and cars that were revved up, trying to drown out the messages.
Guy Asked For Money
There was a guy standing behind me that kept saying something, but I couldn’t hear him. We all finished the night singing some more carols. When we were done, the guy came up and asked me for money because he said that he was hungry. (The ironic thing was he was holding some takeout food in his hand that someone had bought for him). I wouldn’t give him money, so he asked me to give him a ride. I took him to what I thought was a friend’s apartment. This guy’s name is Michael and he was acting weird so Erica drove her vehicle to the apartment complex too, just to make sure that I was ok.
Meth Addict, Homosexual and Possibly Demon Possessed
I didn’t recognize him at first, but Michael is one of the three people I witnessed to over four years ago. He’s lost a lot of weight. He told me that he’s meth addict, a homosexual and even he acknowledged that he had demons around him. The only part that I would disagree with him about is the demons. Instead of being around him, I think they are in him. He sounded like a crazy person (and he was nothing like this four years ago). Erica said she believes Aaron has witnessed to him before too. The saddest part is I thought I really had a good conversation with him four years ago. I thought that he clearly heard the Gospel back then and understood his need for a Savior.
But it appears that he is a real life example of Romans 1 where God turns people over to a reprobate mind. You run from God long enough and hard enough then He will remove His hands of mercy from you. He will turn you over to yourself and this is a sad example of what that looks like. I do pray that God will open Michael’s spiritually blind eyes and open his spiritually deaf ears and save him.
I shared the Gospel with him again while we drove to the apartment complex, but he didn’t seem to hear or care. When we got the apartment complex he asked me if I would drive him to the store because somebody else had given him money. Michael wreaked of the smell of alcohol and I wanted no part in enabling him further. So I told him that he asked for a ride to the apartment and that was the only place I was taking him. So he thanked me for the ride and started walking to the store a few blocks away.
Real Spiritual Battle
I’m sure he was going for more alcohol. Folks, when we go out and preach the Gospel, it’s serious business. It’s not a game. There is a real spiritual battle going on out there. God in His great mercy sends people like my friends and I to share the Gospel with this lost and dying world. But when people continue to reject it, God turns them over to their reprobate mind. Some have died in their sins and others continue spiraling down the broad road to destruction. It breaks our hearts, but we can’t save anyone. Salvation is of the Lord (Jonah 2:9). All we can do is share the glorious Gospel, but we can’t force anyone to become a true follower of Jesus.
Oh if you are reading this and you are not saved, heed the warning. Repent and trust Jesus before it’s too late. You can keep putting it off until that one day it’s too late. God either turns you over to a reprobate mind or He requires your very life. But if you reject this great salvation in this life, you will have Hell to pay for all of eternity in the next life. Turn from your sins and turn to Jesus. Do this before it’s too late.
Spitter, Cussing Woman, Bottles of Water and a Bible
On Wednesday, Brian and I witnessed at MSU. The temperature was around 41 degrees, but the wind was biting cold. I started off with a message and one student walked up to me and spit in my direction. I don’t know if he was just trying to rattle me or if he really was trying to hit me, but he missed. While Ii was preaching, Brian handed out bottles of water and tracts.
When I finished up, I encouraged the students to come over and talk to us if they had any questions, let us know if they had any prayer requests or if they wanted a Bible. One young man came up to me and said that he would take a Bible. I hope and pray that he will read it and that God will save him if he’s not already saved.
Brian brought a message about the birth of Jesus and how the angels said peace on earth, good will to men. I handed out tracts while he was preaching. Many students took tracts. But I tried to hand one to an older woman and she flinched and said “get that ____ away from me. I yelled after her to have a nice day (because she will not have a nice after life if she continues rejecting God like she’s doing).
(These updates are posted to encourage Christians to share the Gospel. If you are truly saved, you have eternal life. Don’t you want to see other people receive everlasting life?)
