Good Fellowship
Ministry Update January 7, 2018
Even though it was cold Friday night (but not as cold as other parts of the country), we had good fellowship. Kelly, Conner, Brandon and I had a great time visiting. Conner’s friend Brandon has done street witnessing before, but Friday was his first time open-air preaching. Praise God! We pray that it won’t be his last time.
Typically, the first Friday of each month is busier than normal, but that wasn’t the case this time around. I think it was actually busier the last few Fridays than this one. Conner and I both thought last Friday was even colder than this Friday, but there weren’t as many people out this time around. We literally gave out maybe a handful of tracts.
But there were a few people coming and going across the street from us. One young man yelled out the window of a stretch limousine and one young woman yelled toward us as she walked into a building. But other than that, it was pretty quiet. But while one of us was preaching, the other three of us had a good time fellowshipping together. Lifting up the name of Jesus glorifies Him regardless of how many people are around. It’s all about the Lord and not about us.
Little Warmer Weather But Still Cold Hearts
Wednesday at Planned Parenthood the temperature was 23 degrees, which was a little warmer than the 19 degrees the week before. But sadly, the hearts of those going inside were still just as cold as the week before. In fact, it was a repeat. I pleaded with people and nobody would interact. There were five or six cars there pretty much during the lunch hour.
It is heart breaking to think that people are going in that building to end the life of their baby. I just can’t understand how people can be so callous to a human life. If someone was out on the sidewalk killing puppies, people would go absolutely berserk and probably beat the perpetrator half to death. But where is the outrage over a baby’s life being snuffed out in the womb? Just because it’s done behind closed doors and not out in the open it makes it alright? Because people want to believe it’s a woman’s right to choose, it makes it alright?
No, murder is murder. Killing a baby that resides in a womb is just as much a heinous crime as someone murdering a baby that’s been born. Being unborn or not yet born does not make a baby any less human. The baby in the womb is a child. God’s Word calls a pregnant woman “with child.” God already considers the baby in the womb a child. How is murdering a child a choice and not a crime?
