My wife and I saw a bumper sticker on a vehicle the other day, “God loves you whether you like it or not.” We both read it and chuckled, but then it struck both of us how profound this simple statement really is. God really does love each and every one of us, whether we acknowledge or reciprocate that love.
1 John 4:9-10 states, “In this was manifested the love of God toward us, because that God sent his only begotten Son into the world, that we might live through him. Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.”
Did you catch that? God loves you. God loves me. He loves us all. God’s love is really beyond our comprehension. At least I can’t really grasp the magnitude of it. I can’t fully comprehend how God made each and every one of us; how He loves each and every one of us. I don’t understand how even though He is righteous, Holy and just, He made us, knowing ahead of time that we would all sin against Him and rebel against Him. Knowing that our sinfulness would separate us from Him. I can’t fully grasp why He went ahead and created us human beings anyway, knowing ahead of time how we are.
The only way I can even come close to understanding a very minor part of this is: love. God truly loves each and every one of us. He loves us so much, that He sent Jesus, who walked this earth and lived a perfect, sinless life, to suffer and die on the cross on our behalf. God loves us so much that He allowed that and Jesus loves us so much He actually went through with it. This is true love. The Bible says that God is love (1 John 4:8).
So what are you personally going to do with the love of God? Are you going to keep rejecting this love by continuing your rebellion against God or are you going to accept this amazing gift of love? If you are ready to accept this amazing free, loving gift from God, then repent from your sins by turning away from them and put your faith in Jesus Christ. Ask Jesus to be your Lord and Savior instead of trusting in your own goodness. Surrender your life to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Accept the love of God. Accept the salvation from our loving savior, Jesus the Messiah.

I pray that we never lose sight of the wonder that is God’s love. Thanks for the reminder!
