False, False, False
Ministry Update November 27, 2016
“False, false, false.” “You are not God.” “Jesus didn’t write the Bible.” Yes, a couple Friday night actually chanted these things while I was preaching. Just to clear the record, I never said Jesus wrote the Bible, I said Jesus confirmed the Bible. Jesus constantly quoted the Old Testament. I obviously never claimed to be God. But their greatest sin was chanting false, false, false while I was reading the Bible. They even chanted this when I quoted John 3:16!
That is downright evil. That is satanic. That is anti-Christ. When you claim the word of God is false you are barreling down the broad road to destruction and you have no brakes in sight. It was disgusting and it was demonic. It still bothers me thinking about it now as I’m writing this update. Those two people are going to split Hell wide open after they die if they don’t repent and surrender their lives to Christ.
The woman was the more vocal of the two, but they both appeared to be drinking, even though they both denied it. The man claimed that he’s never sinned. If you claim that you have never sinned, you are a liar and the truth is not in you. Both of them screamed as loud as they could to drown out the message. While they were doing this, a guy came across the street holding a small rock. He insisted that I take it, but I wouldn’t. I just kept preaching. Aaron walked over and took it, then the guy insisted that he throw it at him. I guess has going for whoever is without sin, cast the first stone. Of course Aaron didn’t throw it, but he did have a good conversation with the guy.
Brain preached after me and his message was against materialism. He wasn’t preaching against necessities, but against excesses. He pointed out God provides for true believers. Toward the end of his message the person that lives in the top apartment behind where we were preaching started blaring their sound system. They continued for a while when Aaron preached next. Evidently the guy liked the carols that Erica, Diana, Elise, Aaron, Brian and I sang at the beginning and he wanted to hear more singing. I guess he didn’t care as much for the preaching.
Aaron brought a message about the fruit of the Spirit and while he was preaching, two guys came up and kissed several times while a girl that was with recorded it. They kept kissing and waiting for Aaron to see them. He just ignored them and kept preaching. Then one of the guys started recording with his camera and turned to each one of us and said f you as he spun around in the middle of us.
At one point a car drove by and they had written on passenger side window “Just love wicked.” Erica saw and turned to me and asked if I saw it and I told her that I did see the message. A marijuana RV was parked caddie corner across the street from us and a police officer asked him some questions, but I don’t think anything came from it. The same guy was out last Friday too. I think he sells hemp products and is pushing for the legalization of marijuana.
Even among all the craziness, people seemed to really like the Christmas carols. We could see people rolling their windows down as they drove by (and it was cold – around 31 degrees) and some were singing with us. One woman recorded one song with us while her friend came over and joined in with us. A few tracts were handed out and we hope and pray that Jesus was glorified through the singing and preaching.
Planned Parenthood
Brian and I witnessed at Planned Parenthood on Wednesday. It was cold and windy, but we shared the Gospel with the workers inside. They just laughed at the pleading for them to repent and trust Jesus. One worker really mocked us, so I reminded her that she won’t be laughing on Judgment Day. I warned her that she’s storing up more wrath against the day of wrath. One couple went in while we were there. I pleaded with them to spare the baby’s life if they were there concerning an abortion. But they ignored me and went inside anyway.
(These updates are given to encourage Christians to share their faith in Jesus with others. If you are considering becoming a pastor or missionary I highly encourage you to get on a box on a street corner and share the Gospel. If you can preach to hostile crowds, you can preach anywhere.)
