Extra Night Of Fellowship
Ministry Update July 15, 2018
Every Friday night street witnessing is different. We never know what we are going to encounter. Sometimes mockers, other times encouragers and periodically both. Last week there were many of us witnessing and this week only two of us. But I realized on the way home Friday night that it really is a blessing to witness with other believers because we get in an extra night of fellowship.
We fellowship with other believers at church and Sunday school. But for those of us who street witness together, we are blessed with an extra night of fellowship. Even though it was just Pastor Joshua and I witnessing Friday night, we had a wonderful time fellowshipping together. We talked about our favorite pastors from the past and present as well as some theological questions. But mainly, we had a great time visiting with each other.
Just like the week before when Kelly passed out over 50 tracts, Pastor Joshua did the same Friday night. Overall it was a small crowd, but Pastor Joshua drew a heckler who stopped her convertible in the middle of the street, saying something about Jesus and then proceeded to ask him what the f he’s doing. Pastor Joshua just ignored her and kept preaching. Another heckler stopped to heckle me while Pastor Joshua was bringing his message I was handing out tracts across the street. I just ignored him too.
While Pastor Joshua and I were visiting and handing out tracts, two guys crossed the street near us. I thought I’d previously handed them tracts, but just to be sure I offered them tracts again. The one guy said no to the tracts and said that he’s going to perish. Then I knew that they had indeed received tracts before because I was handing out the Chapel Library Tract – Repent or Perish by A. W. Pink.
Since he said that he’s going to perish, I asked him if that bothers him. He replied no. To which I said, “Sir, then you don’t really understand what perish means.” And he doesn’t. Pershing is never ending torments. It is where people are weeping and gnashing their teeth. Everyone who dies in their sins without Jesus Christ as their Lord and Savior are facing this horrible reality. That’s what compels us to share the Gospel with this lost and dying world.
Pure Apathy
It was pure apathy at Planned Parenthood on Wednesday when Polly and I witnessed there during the lunch hour. Pleaded with women going in and coming out and absolutely no response. But they heard the Gospel. I read in Luke 3 the genealogy of Jesus that goes all the way back to Adam. These verses always amaze me. People question the authenticity of the Bible and yet, the Bible names men all the way back to the first created being!
I read the names out loud because these men had names. They were created by God in His image and they were born and they were all given names. Every one of the 60 million babies in America that have been murdered in the womb were also made by God in His image and God knew every one of them before He formed them. Abortion is a most heinous crime. It is an abomination to Almighty God. He hated child sacrifice in the Old Testament and He still hates it today. Abortion must end. May God break hard hearts.
