There were close to 110 evangelists from around the United States that met in Indianapolis during Super Bowl weekend to witness a couple of days prior to and the day of the Super Bowl. We were part of the Super Bowl Outreach by Bill Adams. This was the 11th year for SBO.
We had to get up around 6:15 AM each morning (and 5:15 AM on Super Bowl Sunday), we prayed together for an hour, ate breakfast and then we were blessed with listening to two preachers each morning. Around 10:30 AM we drove downtown the two days prior to the Super Bowl and to the stadium on Super Bowl Sunday. We typically came back to the camp we were staying at around 9 or 9:30 pm. We’d shower, call (or text) loved ones, read our Bibles, go to bed and then get back up the next morning and start over again. It was physically, mentally and emotionally challenging. But Bill Adams designed it that way on purpose, to make us all rely more heavily on God to help us through.
We handed out Gospel tracts, did one to one witnessing and open air preaching. The crowds were very rowdy all three days (in fact, one open air preacher was hit in the face with a wrapped sandwich), but the Gospel of Jesus Christ our Lord was proclaimed in the open air. We pray that God will continue working on the souls He convicted during the outreach and that He will send messengers to those people, that He will save them and send godly people their way to help them on their spiritual journeys. We ask this all for the honor and glory of God and it was a real honor to join all the other evangelists at the Super Bowl this year.
