Does God Still Save?
America is now being described as a post-Christian society. Being a Christian and holding to a biblical worldview is not popular. In fact, it’s counter-cultural. Christians are now considered haters and bigots. In fact, in many states, Christians are losing their jobs and some have even gone to jail for standing for their faith. So as America becomes more godless, it begs the question: Does God still save?
Is God still saving souls today? Absolutely He does! God is a saving God. He saved eight souls during the worldwide flood, when He poured His judgment out over the wickedness of mankind. Even in God’s righteous wrath over rebellious, sinful men and women, He still graciously saved eight souls on the ark.
God saved in the past, such as during the flood as well as when He saved Israel out of bondage in Egypt. Praise God, He’s still saving souls today. Listen to Isaiah 59:1: Behold, the LORD’s hand is not shortened, that it cannot save, or his ear dull, that it cannot hear.
Why Yes He Does!
Does God still save? Why yes, He does! It may not be as evident in post-Christian America, but even here, God is still saving souls. I highly encourage you to check out Freeway Ministries. Go to their website and Facebook page and see many men and women whose lives have been eternally changed by the grace of God. Are there more drunks and drug addicts that never clean up? Sadly, yes there are. Oh, but for those who truly repent from their sins and surrender their lives to Jesus, their lives will never be the same.
There is hope in Jesus Christ alone. Salvation is of the Lord. Seeing God working in America where we keep saying no to God, say No God, we will not have this man Jesus Christ reign over us, is fewer and far between. But God is still saving souls in America. But if you really want to see where God is moving mightily, look to China and other places where believers are being severely persecuted. Where Christians are being tortured and put to death.
Satan loves to see Christians being tortured and martyred for their faith. But you’d think after all this time that he would see that Christianity spreads like wildfire during times of persecution. But instead of realizing this and backing off, he seems to push evil men in power to be even more evil. What the devil intends for evil, God uses for good. The Lord is still saving souls, especially in countries and areas where Christians are being persecuted and even killed for their faith in Jesus.
People Generally Don’t Die For A Lie
You see, people generally don’t die for a lie, a myth or a fable. But true followers of Jesus are willing to die for the One who died for us. Christians are willing to suffer on behalf of the Lord who took the punishment that He didn’t deserve. Jesus walked this earth a little over 2,000 years ago and He did what you and I could not do. The Lord never sinned, not one time. Whereas we are liars, thieves, drunkards, blasphemers, adulterers at heart, covetous people, Jesus never did any of these things.
Jesus always did the will of God the Father. He was obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Where He was beaten beyond recognition and even worse than the physical pain, was the pain of God pouring out His righteous wrath over sin out upon His own precious, sinless Son. That’s how much God hates sin! Do not be deceived today. God doesn’t love the sinner and hate the sin. God is angry with the wicked every day (Psalm 7:11). He hates all workers of iniquity (Psalm 5:5).
Sin doesn’t suffer eternal punishment in Hell. No, it’s real men and women who suffer unimaginable torments in Hell. One day the demons and the devil will join all unbelievers in Hell. This just punishment goes on forever and ever. There is no end to their suffering. No matter how long a person suffers in Hell, they never pay back the sin debt of one little white lie, let alone all of their unrepentant sins.
The Lord Took The Punishment That We Deserve
Jesus took the punishment that we deserve. He suffered, bled and died on that cruel cross. Then He was buried and rose victoriously from the grave three days later. Jesus defeated sin, death, Hell and Satan. God offers eternal life to each and every person who repents and surrenders their life fully and completely to Jesus.
Does God still save? Yes He does! God offers eternal life to all who repent and surrender their lives to Jesus. Not only does God still save, but this could be you. Yes, it could be you if you recognize that you are a sinner. Confess and forsake your sins. Cry out for God to have mercy upon you. Repent from your sins and put your trust in Jesus.
Not only am I begging you to do so, but please listen to what God says: Turn to me and be saved, all the ends of the earth! For I am God, and there is no other (Isaiah 45:22). God says turn to Him and be saved! All the ends of the earth. Salvation is not just for the Jews. It’s not just for the Gentiles. Jesus is the great light that came into the world and shined light on the Jews and the Gentiles.
Oh Come To Jesus And Be Saved
Come to Jesus and be saved. There is no other Savior. There is one God and there is no other. God reveals Himself through God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit, the great three in one. But God is one God and there is no other. And there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12).
Oh, don’t continue rebelling against God. Don’t continue hating God and loving your sins. Don’t keep saying No God, I will not have this man Jesus Christ rule over my life. Humble yourself today, come to Jesus and be saved. Repent and put your faith in Jesus.
The soul who sins shall die. The son shall not suffer for the iniquity of the father, nor the father suffer for the iniquity of the son. The righteousness of the righteous shall be upon himself, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon himself.
If The Wicked Turns Away From All His Sins
“But if a wicked person turns away from all his sins that he has committed and keeps all my statutes and does what is just and right, he shall surely live; he shall not die. None of the transgressions that he has committed shall be remembered against him; for the righteousness that he has done he shall live. Have I any pleasure in the death of the wicked, declares the Lord God, and not rather that he should turn from his way and live?
But when a righteous person turns away from his righteousness and does injustice and does the same abominations that the wicked person does, shall he live? None of the righteous deeds that he has done shall be remembered; for the treachery of which he is guilty and the sin he has committed, for them he shall die. “Yet you say, ‘The way of the Lord is not just.’ Hear now, O house of Israel: Is my way not just? Is it not your ways that are not just?
When a righteous person turns away from his righteousness and does injustice, he shall die for it; for the injustice that he has done he shall die. Again, when a wicked person turns away from the wickedness he has committed and does what is just and right, he shall save his life.
The Lord Judges
Because he considered and turned away from all the transgressions that he had committed, he shall surely live; he shall not die. Yet the house of Israel says, ‘The way of the Lord is not just.’ O house of Israel, are my ways not just? Is it not your ways that are not just? “Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, declares the Lord God. Repent and turn from all your transgressions, lest iniquity be your ruin (Ezekiel 18:20-30).
Oh, turn and live. Repent from your sins and turn to Jesus Christ the Lord. Submit to His Lordship. Surrender your life fully and completely to Jesus. Call upon the name of the Lord and be saved. Don’t put this off. Now is the accepted time, today is the day of salvation. Repent and believe the Gospel and be saved.
The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance (2 Peter 3:9). Does God still save? Of course He does. But He still saves the same why He did in the past: through repentance and faith in Jesus. We are to have repentance toward God and faith in our Lord Jesus Christ (Acts 20:21).
Fall Broken At The Foot Of The Cross
Repent and surrender your life to Jesus. Fall broken over your sins at the foot of the cross. Don’t continue rejecting such a great salvation. Do not harden your heart. Don’t believe the lies that America can do just fine without God. Do not think for one second that America can survive as a godless nation. God will not bless any nation that does not bless Him.
We can’t continue calling good – evil and evil -good. No, we can’t continue killing over 3,000 babies a day and expect God to bless America. The shedding of innocent blood is an abomination to God. This is the most serious sin of America today and sadly, there are many other sins our nation is committing. We’ve taken God out of many homes, so called churches, schools and even more of the public arena all the time.
Make no mistake, America as a whole is racing faster and faster toward Hell. But God is still saving individuals, one at a time. Don’t continue rebelling against God. Do not die in your sins and split Hell wide open when you die. Repent, repent, repent! Repent from your sins and trust Jesus. Trust in the Lord fully and completely for your salvation. Do this today and be saved.
