Do You Have Peace With God?
Do you have peace with God? The Bible says most people proclaim themselves good in their own eyes, so maybe it’s because most people think they are good, that they presume to have peace with God.
Romans 5:1 says: Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. You have peace with God, only if you have been justified by faith in Jesus Christ the Lord. Is this you tonight? Do you truly have peace with God? Are you justified or found just before God?
None of us are just or justified on our own. None of us measure up to God’s perfect standard. Not a single one of us. So if you are out here and you think that somehow you can earn your way to Heaven by your works, by your own goodness or by any other means except through Jesus Christ alone, you are wrong. You can only be justified through Christ.
Jesus Is Perfect
Jesus is perfect and He is the only perfect sacrifice for guilty sinners like you and me. He is the only atonement – once and for all for sin. He perfectly kept the 10 Commandments. He always perfectly obeyed the will of God the Father. He is the one who gave Himself up for guilty sinners who repent and put their faith in Him. He’s the one who suffered, bled and died for guilty sinners. He was buried and rose from the grave the third day.
God offers eternal life to those who repent and surrender their lives to Jesus. This is the only way you can have peace with God is through the Prince of Peace – Jesus Christ. Do you have peace with God or have you made yourself an enemy to God? If Jesus is not your Lord and Savior, then you have no peace with God. You are still God’s enemy.
Enemy Of God
James 4:4 states: Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God. Oh if the world is your friend tonight, if worldly pleasures are what you seek, then you most assuredly have made yourself God’s enemy. These are strong words in this verse. You, not your neighbor, but you have made yourself an enemy to God.
If you are a friend to the world, then you are the enemy of God. Do you support the culture around you? Do you support fornication, adultery, same sex marriage, transgenderism, marijuana, abortion or any host of other sinful behaviors in America? If so, YOU ARE THE ENEMY OF GOD! Make no mistake tonight, enemies of God have no peace. They have eternal suffering to look forward to, but they have no peace. If this is you tonight, then your conscience is still guilty. Your sins have not been forgiven and you cannot have peace with God.
Don’t Be Fooled
Don’t let anyone fool you by declaring peace, peace, when you have no peace. No Jesus; no peace. Without Jesus you have pain and suffering staring at you in the next life. You have death and destruction headed your way. There is no peace with God until you humble yourself and submit to the Lordship of Jesus. Without repentance and faith in Christ, you cannot have peace with God. Jesus is the only way of salvation.
Psalm 58:2-3 says: Yea, in heart ye work wickedness; ye weigh the violence of your hands in the earth. The wicked are estranged from the womb: they go astray as soon as they be born, speaking lies. We make ourselves enemies of God right from the womb. We are born with a sinful nature and we all sin. There is none righteous, no not one.
For if, when we were enemies, we were reconciled to God by the death of his Son, much more, being reconciled, we shall be saved by his life (Romans 5:10). Again, before a person is a true follower of Christ, they are enemies of God. If this is you tonight, you don’t have to remain God’s enemy. You can be reconciled to God through the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus. You can be saved tonight. Jesus is the way, the truth and the life. You can receive everlasting life, if you turn from your sins and turn to Jesus.
Justified By His Blood
Romans 5:9 states: Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him. What can wash away my sins? Nothing but the blood of Jesus. We are only made right or justified through the shed blood of Jesus. He was the atonement for our sins; if you repent and trust Him. If you are a follower of Jesus Christ, then you are saved from God’s wrath. Those who remain enemies of God, are still under His righteous wrath over their sins.
Please don’t miss Romans 5:8: But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. We are all sinners. We have all rebelled against our great Creator. Yet, He loved us while we were yet sinners! For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16).
Atonement For Our Sins
God loved us so much that He sent Jesus to be the atonement for our sins. We can never clean ourselves up. We cannot wipe out our sins. We cannot make ourselves right with God. So God made a way for us to get back in a right relationship with Him, through Jesus Christ alone. Jesus died on the cross for guilty sinners like us. He took the punishment that we deserve. But you must receive the gift. If you don’t receive salvation, it will do you no good. You will die in your sins as an unrepentant sinner and you will suffer the punishment that you deserve – forever and ever.
For when we were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly. For scarcely for a righteous man will one die: yet peradventure for a good man some would even dare to die (Romans 5:6-7). We are helpless to save ourselves. We are helpless. We can’t add one second to our lives. We can’t wipe out a little white lie, let alone every single sin that we have committed.
How Many Times Have You Sinned?
How many times have you blasphemed God? How many times have you created and worshipped idols (even if they were in your own mind)? How many times have you committed sexual sins? How many times have you lied, stolen, gotten drunk or high? Folks, we have sinned countless times. We’ve sinned so many times that we literally can’t number them all.
We don’t know the exact number of our sins, but God does. He knows all and He has them written in a book. That is, unless your sins have been forgive, then He remembers them no more. He blots them out of the book. Either your sins are being added to all the time in one book, or your name is written in the Lamb’s book of life and your sins are wiped out. Which is it tonight? Are you a guilty Hell bound sinner or are you a wretched sinner that’s been saved by grace? It’s one or the other, but cannot be both.
Jesus Died For The Ungodly
Jesus died for the ungodly. He died for God rebelling, God rejecting sinners like us, but you must repent and put your faith in Jesus. If you continue in your sin, the flames of Hell await you. Eternal damnation and punishment await you after you take your last breath in this life. But you don’t have to die and go to Hell. Your sins can be forgiven. Your sins can be wiped out. Jesus died for the ungodly. But you must receive the free gift of salvation. Repent and trust Jesus Christ. Do this tonight and be saved.
The last part of Romans 5:5 says: the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us. God loves a humble and contrite heart. Oh sinner, confess and forsake your sins. Stop pretending that everything is alright. Stop pretending that you have peace with God when you have no peace. Jeremiah 6:13-14 states: For from the least of them even unto the greatest of them every one is given to covetousness; and from the prophet even unto the priest every one dealeth falsely. They have healed also the hurt of the daughter of my people slightly, saying, Peace, peace; when there is no peace.
No Peace With God
Do not be deceived, unrepentant sinners do not have peace with God. Don’t let anyone tell you peace, peace when you have no peace. When your heart is not right with God and your fellowman, you do not have peace with God.
But when you turn from your sins and surrender your life to Jesus Christ, when you become a new creature in Christ, when God gives you the earnest deposit of the Holy Ghost living inside you, then and only then can you have peace with God.
When you are truly born again, when you are a true follower of Jesus Christ, not only do you have peace with God, but you also receive the love of God. Listen to what the apostle Paul says in Romans 8:37-39: Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us. For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Peace and Love
Do you have peace with God tonight; true peace, everlasting peace? Do you have the love of God that can never be taken from you? Do you have joy unspeakable and full of glory? Are you truly a child of God’s? Are you a true follower of Jesus? Have you repented and put your faith in Jesus Christ and in Him alone to save you? If so, you have these assurances from God’s word.
But if you do not have peace, if you do not have joy in the Lord, if you do not have God’s love that can never be taken away from you, then you have the opposite of these things. You are still a child of the devil. You do not have everlasting life ahead of you. Instead, you have eternal damnation. You have torment and excruciating pain to look forward to. You are headed for Hell and you will have no rest there, day or night. You will cry out in unimaginable agony forever and ever.
Don’t Go Die In Your Sins And Go To Hell
Oh, don’t die in your sins and go to Hell. Don’t suffer all of eternity having no peace with God. Come to Jesus Christ. Come to Him tonight. Repent and believe the Gospel. Trust Jesus. Trust Him for His finished work on the cross. Trust Him for His atoning sacrifice that paid the sin debt you owe. Trust in Christ alone for your salvation. Only trust Him, only trust Him, only trust Him now. He will save you, He will save you, He will save you now.
Today is the day of salvation. Repent and trust Jesus. Be ye saved. Be saved today. Then receive the peace of God that you’ve never known. Receive the peace that only comes from the Prince of Peace. Receive peace with God and receive everlasting life. Repent and surrender your life to Jesus. Call upon the name of the Lord and be saved.
