Do You Believe Jesus Is The Christ?
The Bible clearly proves that Jesus, the only begotten Son of God, is the Christ. He is The Anointed One. He is the Savior of the world. Jesus is the Messiah that was prophesied about in the Old Testament. I have repented from my sins and put my trust in Jesus as my Lord and Savior because He is the Christ. He is the only way of salvation. Jesus is the only one who could take away my sins. I love, worship, and adore Jesus Christ the Lord. I believe with all my heart that he is the Christ. Do you believe that Jesus is the Christ?
Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that loveth him that begat loveth him also that is begotten of him (1 John 5:1). Whosoever believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God. Are you really hearing these words tonight? Do you believe that Jesus is the Christ? Do you believe that He is the one who takes away the sins of the world? (John 1:29).
This is the most important question that any of us face in this life: Who do you say Jesus is? Who is Jesus Christ to you? Was He just a good person that said some profound, loving ways to live life? Or is He truly the only begotten Son of God that came to this earth to save His people from their sins? Is He who He says that He is?
Rejecting The Only Way Of Salvation
If you have never repented and surrendered your life to Jesus, then you won’t believe that He is the Christ (at least not at this time). By denying Christ Jesus, you are rejecting the only way of salvation. You are against Jesus and your sins remain upon you. The guilt of your sins remains upon you. God’s wrath over your sins remains upon you. If this is you tonight, I ask you: What will you do with your sins on Judgment Day?
And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment (Hebrews 9:27). It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God (Hebrews 10:31). He that hath the Son hath life; and he that hath not the Son of God hath not life (1 John 5:12). You “have” the Son by believing in Jesus Christ. Those of us who are saved, are born again. We have the Holy Spirit living inside us. Do you have the Son of God tonight, thereby having eternal life? Or have you rejected the Son of God, meaning that you don’t have eternal life?
If you do not have Jesus, then God is angry with you over your sins. The foolish shall not stand in your sight: you hate all workers of iniquity (Psalm 5:5). God judges the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day (Psalm 7:11). He that believes on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believes not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abides on him (John 3:36). But the transgressors shall be destroyed together: the end of the wicked shall be cut off (Psalm 37:38). The way of the Lord is strength to the upright: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity (Proverbs 10:29).
Is God Angry With You?
If Jesus is not your Lord and Savior, then God is angry with you over your sins. Your guilt remains upon your own head. There is nothing that you can do to make yourself right with God. You can’t clean yourself up and expect God to accept you and overlook your sins. God made you in His own image, yet your sinfulness, your rebellion against God has separated you from God. There is absolutely nothing that you can do to save yourself. You can quit drinking, smoking, chasing women, lying, cheating, stealing, hating and being prideful.
You can stop all of these things and it still won’t allow you to get into Heaven. None of us can clean ourselves up enough to make it to Heaven. None of us can make ourselves righteous or right with God. He is Holy. God is perfect and His standard is perfection. We have all missed the mark. We have all fallen short of the glory of God (Romans 3:23).
So are you just tagged tonight? Since you can’t save yourself, should you just eat, drink and be merry? No not at all. Recognizing that you are a sinner and that you can’t save yourself is a step in the right direction. When you realize that you cannot save yourself, then you can look around and see who can save you. No, Buddha can’t save you. Muhammad can’t save you. Joseph Smith can’t save you. The pope can’t save you. No mere mortal can save you.
Jesus Is The Christ
Remember, Jesus is the Christ, The Anointed One. Jesus is the only Savior. He came to this earth 2,000 years ago. Our Lord was fully God and fully man. He was born of the virgin Mary and the Holy Spirit. Jesus lived a perfect, sinless life. Jesus never sinned one time. Think about that. Not once. You and I have probably sinned more than once just in our thoughts while I’ve been bringing this message. But Jesus never, ever sinned. He always did the will of God the Father.
Then Jesus willingly laid down His life as a ransom for many. Jesus took the punishment that you and I deserve. We are the ones who sinned against God. We are the rebels. You and I are the ones who deserve to be cast into outer darkness forever for our sins (Matthew 22:13). Yet while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us. That’s how God demonstrated His love. He sent Jesus to suffer and die on our behalf.
Jesus bore God’s anger over sinful man while He was beaten beyond recognition. When He was nailed to the old rugged cross. For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him (2 Corinthians 5:21). Jesus takes your sins and gives you His righteousness, if you repent and trust Him. Because Jesus suffered, bled and died on the cross and rose from the grave. He was the propitiation for our sins. Jesus satisfied God’s wrath. But you must receive the gift of salvation.
By Grace Are You Saved Through Faith
For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast (Ephesians 2:8-9). Oh tonight, if God is convicting you over your sins and revealing His Holiness to you, please don’t reject this free gift from God. It was a costly gift – it cost God the very life of Jesus His only begotten Son.
But the gift of salvation is freely offered to you, if you surrender your life to Jesus. If you repent and believe the Gospel. Oh tonight, admit that you are a sinner. Confess and forsake your sins. Cry out for God to save you. Trust Jesus Christ to save you from your sins. Repent and put your faith in Jesus. Believe that Jesus is the Christ.
Believe and confess Jesus. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation (Romans 10:9-10). For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved (Romans 10:13).
Will You Call Upon The Name Of Jesus The Christ?
Will you do this tonight? Oh, will you call upon the name of Jesus the Christ and be saved? If not, what is stopping you? Why won’t you believe that Jesus is the Christ? What’s keeping you from repenting and surrendering your life to Jesus? Are you really ready to go to Hell after you die in your sins? Are you ready to suffer the flames of Hell for all eternity? It’s a really, really long time to be wrong about Jesus Christ. Eternity is an awful long time to suffer God’s righteous anger over your rebellion against Him. Why won’t you repent and trust Jesus? Why won’t you do this tonight?
Those of you who say that you are a Christian, do you realize that the apostle Paul says that we are to examine ourselves to see if we are in the faith? Professing Christian, is Jesus Christ, Lord of your life? Is He your Savior? Have you repented and put your faith in Him? Do you believe in the Lord with all your heart? Have believed and confessed the Lord Jesus? Have you been born again? If you died tonight, do you know that you will spend eternity with Jesus in Heaven? Are you sure? Is Jesus your Lord as well as your Savior?
Are You A New Creature In Christ?
Are you a new creature in Christ? 1 John 5:2-5 states: By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments. For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous. For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith. Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?
Does this describe you tonight? Do you keep God’s commandments? Are you an overcomer? Not by your own power or any righteousness of your own, but through the power and righteousness of Jesus Christ? Do you really believe that Jesus is the Son of God? Do you really believe that Jesus is the Christ? If so, has your life changed from the time you professed Jesus as your Lord and Savior?
I’m not asking if you are perfect, none of us are. But is God sanctifying you? Has God changed your heart? Are you still the same old dirty, rotten sinner that you’ve always been or are you changing? Are you becoming more Christlike? God convicts you over your sins when you are truly one of His children. Is God convicting and changing you through the power of the Holy Spirit?
Are You Too Bad For God To Save You?
Maybe you are out here tonight and you are not a follower of Jesus Christ. You have never repented and surrendered your life to the King of kings and the Lord of lords. Just maybe, you think that you are so bad that God can’t save you. I’ve known people who thought this way. I’ve heard some say that God could never forgive me for what I’ve done.
If this is you tonight, your thinking is all wrong. Not only is it wrong, but it is dead wrong. Thinking that you are so bad that God can’t save you is limiting Almighty God. The Lord is mighty to save. Jesus came to seek and save the lost. He didn’t come to save the righteous (by the way, none of us are righteous on our own). Jesus didn’t come to save “sort of good people.”
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved (John 3:16-17). The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9).
Salvation Is Not About You Or Me
If you think that you are so bad that God can’t save you, get over yourself. Salvation is of the Lord. Salvation is the free gift from God based upon the finished work of Jesus Christ on the cross. It’s not about you or me. It’s all about Jesus. You are not so bad that God can’t save you. If God is convicting you tonight, don’t reject such a great of salvation. Repent and trust Jesus. Do this tonight.
Lastly, maybe you think that you will come to Jesus after you clean yourself up. If this is your thinking tonight, you have it backwards. None of us can clean ourselves up enough for God to accept us. We are all filthy. We are all sinners. All of us have all rebelled against God. Only Jesus is the clean One. Only Jesus saves.
No you don’t clean yourself up for God to save you. If you truly repent and surrender your life to Jesus Christ, then God will cleanse you through the power of the Holy Spirit. Fall broken at the foot of the cross. Confess your sins and believe that Jesus is the Christ. Oh, be saved. Be saved today. Then God will clean you up. He will start working on you and making you more like Christ. Repent and believe the Gospel. Do this tonight. Don’t put it off. Believe Jesus is the Christ.
