I Would Die Of Cancer Before Being Diagnosed At Planned Parenthood
I would die of cancer before being diagnosed at Planned Parenthood. This is not hyperbole, I’m 100% serious. This thought obviously never crossed my mind until last Wednesday. Doug and I were the first ones there at Planned Parenthood to witness and before we even got started, a very large man walked up to us and started chastising us for being there. “You’re causing a woman to die because you are here!” Excuse me? “Women are afraid to come here while you are out here so women may die of cancer because of you.”
The man continued to tell us how no other doctors could find his wife’s cancer, but the doctor here at Planned Parenthood found it and saved her life. We are causing women to die because they are afraid to pull into the parking lot. I asked the man about the 900 babies nationwide that will die at the hands of Planned Parenthood and he responded that he didn’t like that, but we are causing women to die because they won’t come in while we are protesting.
Why Aren’t You Protesting Over In The Middle East
Then he wanted to know why we aren’t over in the Middle East protesting there. He said that he served in the military over there. I thanked him for serving our country and he turned around and walked back to his vehicle. Even if he’s right and Planned Parenthood saved his wife’s life, is one life worth 900 babies a day being murdered in the womb? I don’t think so and that’s why I stand by my statement that I would die of cancer before being diagnosed at Planned Parenthood. I wouldn’t give them one dime, even if it meant the end of my life not doing so.
After I brought a message, Allen preached next. Both of us had people come out of the shopping center next door recording us. Neither one appeared to be pro-life. They both appeared to be mockers. While we were preaching, Doug held a sign by the road. He was amazed that four people flipped us off, about three cussed at us and several honked their horns loudly to let us know they didn’t like us being out there. But there were also a few cars that honked supporting us. Even though there were only about three cars that pulled into the parking lot while we were there, several people at the shopping center on one side and the restaurant on the other side heard the Gospel.
Good News Bad News
Friday night was a good news bad news kind of night. The good news is my wife came out street witnessing with me. The bad news is my wife came out witnessing with me. I say this because it was wonderful having my wife join me. She really doesn’t like street witnessing, so it takes a lot for her to come out. She doesn’t like the mockers and scoffers. The bad news was we had the usual mockers and scoffers.
One guy in a green Live Stoned (think play on words for Live Strong) t-shirt came up two different times during my message yelling for me to stop preaching. No one wants to hear what I’m saying. He really looked like he was going to get violent, but thankfully he didn’t. Then a woman also came up and yelled at me twice. I just ignored her like I ignored the guy and kept preaching. The second time she came up she looked like she was going to push me or punch me, so my wife stepped in between us and the woman mouthed off to her a little bit before walking away.
A woman driving a van with a man in the passenger seat mock us frequently downtown. She turned the corner across the street from me, stopped in the middle of road, laid on the horn and literally threw her head back laughing and mocking. A few others mocked as they walked by.
Thank You For Your Ministry
But we started the night off handing out tracts and most of the people took a tract. After the message, I handed out several New Testaments. One guy walked by with three or four other people and said no thanks, he has his Bible on the phone. But after he was just crossing the street he turned back around and yelled “thank you for your ministry.” Another young man thanked my wife and I for being out there. One couple walked by and said no thanks to the New Testatment I was offering, but then she turned around and said “we got one from you last week.” I’m sorry my wife had to witness the animated mockers up close, but I’m really glad that she came out with me.
(These updates are given to encourage Christians to share their faith in Jesus with others. You don’t have to be a Bible scholar to share your faith. You don’t have to know all the answers. There’s nothing wrong with telling someone that you don’t know the answer to their question and that you will get back with them. It isn’t difficult to hold a tract in your hand, reach out your arm to someone you know or a stranger and ask “did you get one of these?”)
