Demons Know Who Jesus Is
When Jesus cast out demons while He walked this earth (the same earth that he created), the Lord didn’t permit the demons to speak. But the demons knew he was, Yes, demons know who Jesus is. James 2:19 states: Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the demons also believe, and tremble. The demons know who Jesus is and they fear and tremble! Demons chose the wrong side. They know their time is short and the demons know who Jesus is.
Matthew 8:28-34 says: And when he was come to the other side into the country of the Gergesenes, there met him two possessed with devils, coming out of the tombs, exceeding fierce, so that no man might pass by that way. And, behold, they cried out, saying, What have we to do with thee, Jesus, thou Son of God? art thou come hither to torment us before the time?
Herd of Swine
And there was a good way off from them a herd of many swine feeding. So the devils besought him, saying, If thou cast us out, suffer us to go away into the herd of swine. And he said unto them, Go. And when they were come out, they went into the herd of swine: and, behold, the whole herd of swine ran violently down a steep place into the sea, and perished in the waters. And they that kept them fled, and went their ways into the city, and told everything, and what was befallen to the possessed of the devils. And, behold, the whole city came out to meet Jesus: and when they saw him, they besought him that he would depart out of their coasts.
The demons knew that Jesus was the Son of God and they also know that they are going to suffer eternal torments when they are cast into the lake of fire. The demons asked Jesus is he came to torture them before the time. They know what’s coming. The demons fear Jesus because they know who He is. They rightly fear God and tremble! Can you say the same? Can you honestly say that you fear God? Do you fear and tremble before the Lord Jesus who is the King of kings and the Lord of lords? Do you truly know that Jesus is Lord of all and that He is Holy, righteous and just and we are not? The Bible says there isn’t a righteous person on this earth.
There Is None Righteous
What then? are we better than they? No, in no wise: for we have before proved both Jews and Gentiles, that they are all under sin; As it is written, There is none righteous, no, not one: There is none that understandeth, there is none that seeketh after God. They are all gone out of the way, they are together become unprofitable; there is none that doeth good, no, not one (Romans 3:9-12).
Demons know who Jesus is, do you? Do you know who Jesus Christ is? Have you repented of your sins and put your faith in Jesus? He is Lord of all, but is He Lord of your life? Have you repented and surrendered your life to Jesus? Are you saved? If you die tonight, will you go to Heaven? Yes you say, what are you counting on to get there? Your own goodness? Again, the Bible says that none of us are good. Going to Heaven and counting on doing more good than bad? If this describes you, then you won’t make it. You will fail miserably because all of us have fallen short of the glory of God.
Will God Just Overlook Your Sins?
Maybe you think you are going to Heaven because God is good and He will overlook your sins. If God overlooked your sins, then He would not be good. A good judge doesn’t let a guilty murderer, guilty rapist, guilty pedophile go free. No, guilty criminals have to be punished and a good judge does punish those who are guilty. So if a mere human judge who is good at his job punishes guilty criminals, shall not the Judge of the all the earth do what is right? You better believe He does.
God in no wise clears the guilty on their own merit. Because God is Holy, righteous and just, He does punish sinners. God is so Holy, that He must punish sinners and He does. Either Jesus paid your sin debt as He was beaten beyond recognition, while He hung on that cruel cross, while He suffered God’s righteous anger over sin, as the Lord suffered, bled and died for guilty sinners who repent and trust Him or your guilt remains upon you. Which is it tonight?
100-Pound Bag
Did Jesus pay your sin debt or do you still owe it? Say you don’t know for sure? If this is you, then you still owe the sin debt. If your sin was a 100-pound bag that you had to carry around all the time and Jesus came along and took the bag (sin) from you and carried it Himself, you would know it! Likewise, repentant sinners know when they have cried out for mercy from God, when they have repented and believed the Gospel.
Oh, sons and daughters of God know that they are sons and daughters. Whom the Son sets free is free indeed! When you truly repent of your sins and surrender your life to Jesus, your life is no longer the same. You have been bought with a price. Salvation is a free gift from God, that doesn’t mean it isn’t costly. It was the highest priced gift of all time. God, the great Creator God, sacrificed His only begotten Son to save His own creation. The Creator substituted Himself for His creation.
The Great Exchange
Salvation is the great exchange. Jesus takes your sins, all of your sins upon Himself (while He hung on the cross) and the Lord then gives you or credits you His righteousness. Those of us who are saved, didn’t save ourselves. All I brought to Jesus was my sins that He willingly died for. No, those of us who have received salvation, are sinners who have been saved by the precious blood of Jesus. The Lord took our punishment that we deserved.
Jesus took our sins and He credits us with His righteousness. So God sees true followers of Christ as sinless because of His own sinless Son. You’re telling me that when Jesus takes your sins and God sees you through the righteousness of Jesus that you don’t know this has happened? You know when you, a guilty criminal has been let go or set free and there was no reason on your own for this to happen.
New Creature In Christ
When you become a follower of Jesus, you become a new creature in Christ. Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new (2 Corinthians 5:17). Still say you don’t know if you have truly been saved or not? Professing Christian, I ask you: Are you a new creature in Christ? Have old things passed away and have all things become new? In other words, are you still the same old dirty, rotten sinner that you’ve always been or has God taken away your heart of stone and given you a heart of flesh?
I’m not asking if you are perfect. I’m not preaching sinless perfectionism. None of us are perfect and we won’t be perfect this side of Heaven. No, if you are saved, I’m asking you if God has convicted you over your sins. If you were a drunkard, has God convicted you to give up alcohol? If you were a drug addict, has God convicted you over using drugs? Or maybe you were an adulterer or fornicator; has God convicted you over your sexual immorality? It’s not a question of perfection. No, it’s a question of has God changed your heart? Are you truly a new creature in Christ?
Examine Yourself
No you say? Then I implore you, examine yourself and see if you are truly in the faith. If you are still the same old wretched sinner that you’ve always been, chances are you missed salvation. You may have been close, but you may still be outside of Christ Jesus. If this is you tonight or if you are a lost soul and you know that you are a rebel, an enemy of God’s, please repent and believe the Gospel. Admit that you are a sinner. Cry out for God to have mercy upon you. Repent of your sins and surrender your life to Jesus Christ. He is Lord of all. The demons know who Jesus is. They fear and tremble. They are afraid of being tormented before their time. Yes, the demons know who Jesus is. Do you? If Jesus is not your Lord and Savior, what’s stopping you from repenting and trusting Jesus right now.
Oh, if Jesus is not Lord of your life, you shouldn’t let your head hit the pillow tonight without getting right with God. This could be your last day on earth. Are you prepared to meet your Maker? If Jesus is not your Lord and Savior, you are not ready! Do not foolishly die in your sins and suffer God’s righteous anger over your rebellion for all eternity. Repent and believe the Gospel.
Demons Know They Are On The Wrong Side
You see, the demons know they are on the wrong side, but do you? If you are an unbeliever, you are actually God’s enemy. You are God’s enemy and He is angry with you over your rebellion. The demons know where they stand (even though they are on the wrong side). Do you know where you stand with God? Are you God’s enemy tonight?
Ye adulterers and adulteresses, know ye not that the friendship of the world is enmity with God? whosoever therefore will be a friend of the world is the enemy of God (James 4:4). The foolish shall not stand in thy sight: thou hatest all workers of iniquity (Psalm 5:5). God judgeth the righteous, and God is angry with the wicked every day (Psalm 7:11). He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him (John 3:36).
Demons Know Where They Are Headed
The demons know who Jesus is. They also know that they are on the wrong side. Yes, the demons know their fate – they will suffer the flames of the lake of fire forever and ever. Then shall He say also unto them on the left hand, ‘Depart from Me, ye cursed, into everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels – in other words – demons (Matthew 25:41).
The demons know where they are headed. Do you? I’ve asked this question before and I will ask it again: Are you dumber than a demon? If you foolishly and blindly barrel through life on the broad road to Hell, then yes, you are dumber than a demon. Don’t continue going through life pretending that God doesn’t exist. You know God is real and you also know that you deserve His just punishment. Don’t continue rebelling against God. Repent and believe the Gospel. Surrender your life utterly and completely to Jesus.
Bow To King Jesus
Bow your knee to King Jesus. Confess with your mouth that He is Lord. That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved (Romans 10:9-13).
Yes, the demons know who Jesus is and so do you. So you are without excuse. Repent from your sins and trust Jesus as your Lord and Savior and be saved. Be saved tonight. The Bible says today is the day of salvation. Repent and put your faith in Jesus. Turn to Christ Jesus and be saved. Be smarter than a demon.
