Every Christian Can Share Their Faith
A lot of people say that they are glad that evangelism “isn’t their spiritual gift” (I know, because I used to be one of them). Other people say that God doesn’t prompt them to witness. [Read more…]

A lot of people have already planned for their summer vacation. People, budget, save up money, decide where they want to travel to, route the best way to get there, make plane and hotel reservations, etc. [Read more…]
The school year is already over for a lot of students and some only have a few days left (like my youngest daughter). So most students have taken their finals already. If you are a student how did you do? Did you get 100% on every final exam? Did you pass every test without missing a single point? [Read more…]
I recently went out witnessing with some of the guys with Born of Him Ministries at Nixa Sucker Days (no they don’ think the customers are suckers, it is named this because they deep fry fish). We carried a sign with us that said, “Can we pray for you?” Yes we got a few strange looks and a few laughs but several people took us up on the offer to pray for them! I want to thank Carl with Bezeugen Ministries for the idea.
I posted back in October 2010 that my wife and I started a new career in publishing. We published two books – Parenting Moment by Moment by Carla MacLachlan and Night of the Cossack by Tom Blubaugh. We are very pleased with the way both of these books turned out. [Read more…]
We love free gifts. Most of us love a good deal, we love to get something for free. My wife and I ate at McDonald’s the other day for lunch. Even though we were in a hurry to get there, my wife took a minute to find a coupon. I told her that I didn’t realize that McDonald’s even had coupons. But she found the coupon and we bought a fish sandwich and received one for free. Man I love saving money. I like free things (most of the time… sometimes you get what you pay for). [Read more…]
I was witnessing at a rock concert recently with a friend of mine. We were handing out Gospel tracts in a thunderstorm (which was quite an experience in itself). [Read more…]
I go out witnessing in Springfield, MO with Greg Marlin and his group Born of Him Ministries. Most of us have been trained by the Way of the Master training of Ray Comfort and Kirk Cameron. Usually, when we are out witnessing we get around to some form of the question, “Are you good enough to go to heaven?”
The other day I heard an audio recording of evangelism training by Mark Spence (he’s associated with Ray Comfort’s Living Waters Ministry). He changed the question a little bit by asking, “What do you think it takes for you to get into Hell?” I love this question! Most people think they are good by man’s standards (and by man’s standards they are right).
Eleven men from my church recently went to a men’s retreat in Eureka Springs, AR. I was riding in the front seat of a car and we were following someone else who had been to the retreat center before. It was very hard to keep track of where we were and where we were going. I told the driver of our car that I hoped he wasn’t counting on me to get us out of there the next day. I was turned around and lost as I could be.
The driver told me, “No problem. I’ll just punch in home on the navigation system and we’ll be fine.” He then turned it on to show me how it works. The screen was white. Now, I don’t have a vehicle with a navigation system in it, but I’ve seen how they work and I know that they are supposed to show you what road you are traveling on. The white screen wasn’t right. We realized that we were so far in the boonies that we were “off the map.” I took a picture of it with my iphone, but by the time I took the picture you could see a portion of highway 62 in the corner, but we still had no idea of where we were at.
How many times have you heard someone say, “money is the root of all evil?” Is this really true? Is money really the root of all evil? What do you think, is money evil?
“For the love of money is the root of all evil” (I Timothy 6:10a). Money in and of itself is not evil. Money is used to exchange goods or services. It is a way to value goods and services. So money is not evil. [Read more…]
