(Greg and Houston are pictured in the first picture)Greg Marlin and I are part of Born of Him Ministries and we witnessed at the Springfield high school graduations on May 9th and 10th. We were greatly blessed to have a young man named Houston Kelly join us when we went out on the 9th. It rained for three hours straight that night. Houston is a tracting machine. He gave out hundreds and hundreds of tracts, in the pouring rain! He also broke the sound barrier by reading blessed Scripture a couple of different times. [Read more…]

Some people tell me that I’m too radical, that I come across as a Jesus freak. But I’m not. I’m just trying to be a biblical Christian. Yes, I share my faith with others. I’m a part of Born of Him Ministries and we do street witnessing – we hand out tracts, do one to one witnessing and open-air preaching. (I also go out witnessing with Repent and Turn Ministries. Someone called the police and a police officer showed up when I was on the box. The officer talked to Greg and Brad while I was preaching. Sometimes in life you have great timing. This isn’t a huge deal, but sometimes you have a green light every time you come to a stoplight while driving through town. It was great timing when my current employer offered me a job last year. I’m pointing out great timing because Brad St. Clair with Repent and Turn Ministries and I recently witnessed at the Miranda Lambert concert in Springfield, MO. It was great timing, because she had just won three CMA awards less than a week before the concert. Can you imagine how electrifying it must have been to see her? I’m sure the crowd went crazy. The guitar player was a supporter and the donkey was a mocker. After this, Brad (in the second picture) and I walked a block north to support Aaron, another street preacher.)

Recently Brad with Repent and Turn Ministries and I went witnessing in downtown Springfield, MO. We handed out tracts, got into one to ones and did a little open-air preaching. Then after that we moved closer to where another friend – Aaron was open-air preaching. Brad had his cross and I handed out tracts and we were across the street from Aaron as he preached. Are you ready for some football? A lot of people think of Monday night football when they hear “Are You Ready?” But I want to talk to you about a different kind of “Are You Ready?” Bruce with Born of Him Ministries has a cross that says Are You Ready? on the front of the cross and it says “Turn From Dead Works” on the other side. Christians love the fruit of the Spirit. I frequently (almost daily) ask God to renew His Holy Spirit in me and I ask him to fill me with the fruit of the Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). As Christians, we are called to be Christ-like and I can’t think of a better way to be Christ-like than to be full of the fruit of the Spirit and to exhibit the fruit to others. [Read more…]

I’m very worried about America. We are far from God and it doesn’t seem to bother most of us. Oh, the majority of American’s claim that they believe in God, but a very small percentage have a biblical world view. In other words, most Americans have made a god that overlooks their sins.
