Thanksgiving is a couple of days away and I’m looking forward to it. My wife bought a turkey today and she’s already planning on everything that she’s going to make with it. Every year we always have turkey, stuffing, mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet potato’s, cranberries, as well as other dishes along with various pies for dessert. I quit drinking 14 years ago, even though I wasn’t saved at the time. My oldest daughter was 12 years old back then and I knew that I didn’t want her to drink. So I thought how can I tell her not to drink when I always have alcohol around the house? So I quit drinking because I didn’t want to be bad influence on my children. [Read more…]

Judge not lest… I say again judge not lest… Most of us know the rest of that sentence – ye be judged. Judge not lest ye be judged. You have probably heard this before. Maybe you’ve even said it to a street evangelist before or perhaps you have said it to someone witnessing outside an abortion clinic. Frankly, we hear this quite often out on the streets. I love the Gospel according to John, especially chapter 10. It is such a rich chapter. Jesus starts off telling the scribes and the Pharisees that they are thieves and robbers in verse 1. They were supposed to be the religious leaders of the people; but they weren’t leading the Jewish people at all. They merely burdened them with all of their man-made rules. Matt Chandler is correct. Humanity’s problem is not materialistic or physical needs; it is a sin problem. We sin against a Holy God (Genesis 39:9; 2 Samuel 12:13). Unbelievers, love their sins. They do what they want to do because they are living for themselves (Jeremiah 18:12). The Bible says that there is none righteous, no not one. There is none that does good. There is none that seeks after God. Are you saved? Have you turned away from your sins – repented (Luke 5:32) and put your trust in Jesus Christ alone to save you? (Ephesians 2:8-9). [Read more…]
N.Y. police officer DePrimo gives homeless man a pair of boots
Recently while street witnessing on a Friday night, two different people told me similar things. One said that she believed Jesus was a good person and the other (an agnostic) said that he thought the Bible had some good things in it for us to live our lives by, but he didn’t believe in God. Bill O’Reilly (the writer of the blasphemous book – Killing Jesus) told an interviewer that Jesus’ last words on the cross were not “It is finished.” The interviewer asked Mr. O’Reilly if he picks and chooses what he believes in the Bible. Recently four different professing Christians came up to us after open-air preaching on the square in downtown Springfield, MO and told us that we were doing it wrong. They all said that we weren’t loving people to Jesus. They all said that we were pushing people farther away from God. A week before that an agnostic at Missouri State University told me the same thing. He said that what I was doing was wrong. 3 Christians handcuffed and arrested by police. Yes, it happened again. Springfield Police Officers arrest street preacher and this time two other Christians as well. This is the second time they’ve confiscated this preacher’s amplifier and equipment. They still haven’t returned his first set of equipment, even though the city attorney admitted the first time around that the police violated his first and fourth amendments as well as the fact that they broke state law too.
