Would You Accuse Jesus of Pushing People Away From God?

Pushing People Away

“You are pushing people away from God.”

“You are pushing people farther away from God.”

“You shouldn’t tell other people what to believe.”

“You should love people to Jesus.” [Read more…]

Will Your Name Be Remembered?

Who won the Oscar in 1969 for Best Actor? Which actor has an airport named after them? Which actor was known as The Duke? If you answered John Wayne for all three of these questions you would be correct. John Wayne won an Oscar for Best Actor in 1969 for True Grit. He died in 1979 and Orange County renamed the airport John Wayne Airport that same year and he was known as The Duke. I wonder if Millennials even know who John Wayne was and I’m sure a very small number even care. So if he’s barely remembered (by young people) now 35 years after his death, will he be remembered in 50 more years? [Read more…]

Kentucky Derby Outreach 2014

It was a real privilege and an honor to witness at the Kentucky Derby this year. 21 men and one lady came from around the country to an outreach put together by Bill Adams with Sports Fan Outreach International. It was a wonderful outreach and the Holy Spirit really moved at this event. We arrived Thursday night May 1, 2014 and we were blessed to hear from Reverend Al Baker, a Presbyterian church planter from Alabama and also from Dr. Hershael York with Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. The teaching was fantastic. (By the way Rev. Baker joined us open-air preaching on Friday and Saturday and Dr. York told us that a deacon from his church was collegiate athlete many years ago and that the deacon had been saved in college because of an open-air preacher). And They’re Off

The bell rings. No you are not late for class. The last horse has been loaded in the chute and the bell rings. The doors fly open and the announcer excitedly says “And they’re off.” Today is the big day. It’s time for The Kentucky Derby. I still remember watching horse racing on TV when I was a kid. My dad loves horse races and I grew up being fascinated by them. I loved the power, the speed, the jockeying back and forth. But I couldn’t tell who was in front. I had to depend on the announcer to know which horse was in which position. [Read more…]

Two Sorry Men

Two Sorry Men Pic

Recently we celebrated Easter – on Resurrection Sunday. We celebrated the fact that Jesus rose from the grave. Jesus lived a sinless life and died a horrific death for sinners like you and me. He always obeyed the will of God the Father. He willingly laid down His life – no man took it from Him. He suffered God’s wrath, God’s anger over our sin (the sin of those who put their trust in Jesus) as He hung on that cruel cross. He died and rose victoriously three days later. Thank you Jesus for your wonderful sacrifice! [Read more…]

Beat Beyond Recognition website pic

One of my best friends in high school was in a bad fight one time and he was really badly beaten up. The other kid had just moved to Lebanon, MO (my hometown) from somewhere in California. I don’t remember how the fight even started. It may have been that California was flirting with my friend’s girlfriend. [Read more…]

Does God Hear Your Prayers?

April 1, 2014 by dennis@seekandsavethelost.com 4 Comments

Today, I want to ask you if you think God hears your prayers. Does God hear your prayers? Well, if you are a God-hating atheist, then obviously God doesn’t hear your prayers because you don’t even pray. If you did pray at all, then you couldn’t call yourself an atheist. So God does not hear atheists because they don’t pray. [Read more…]

Running in Circles

My family and I have four cats. One of them is literally crazy. I call her crazy eyes. This crazy cat actually chases her own tail. I really think that she thinks that she can catch it. You’ve probably seen a dog or a cat do this same thing. It looks funny when they run around in circles. I also remember when I was a kid several of us would spin around until we made ourselves dizzy and fell down. We would literally run around in circles and we thought it was fun. [Read more…]
