New Year

It’s a new year. Are you full of hope? Is this year going to be different? Did you make New Year’s resolutions? Have you kept them? You and I are the same people we were at the end of 2017. I can’t escape myself and you can’t escape you. So how are you going to make this year better? How is it going to be different? What is going to change in 2018?  [Read more…]

You Guys Should Have A Podcast

Ministry Update January 14, 2017

Friday night was cold; it was 22 degrees and felt like 8 degrees with the wind chill. I thought it might be good practice for the Super Bowl Outreach coming up the first part of February, since the Super Bowl is going to be in Minneapolis, MN this year. I’m glad I got get a chance to see a little of what it might be like, because just having my fingers uncovered for 5 minutes made them so cold and stiff that I couldn’t turn the pages of the Bible. So, I do need to work on finding some better gloves.  [Read more…]

Peace Be Still

Peace Be Still

Tonight, I want to talk about peace. Don’t you want peace? Wouldn’t you love to see world peace? Do you want peace in your home, at work, peace in your life? I should ask, do you have peace in your life? Jesus Christ is the Prince of Peace. He is the one who said “Peace be still.”  [Read more…]

Good Fellowship

Ministry Update January 7, 2018

Even though it was cold Friday night (but not as cold as other parts of the country), we had good fellowship. Kelly, Conner, Brandon and I had a great time visiting. Conner’s friend Brandon has done street witnessing before, but Friday was his first time open-air preaching. Praise God! We pray that it won’t be his last time.  [Read more…]

Wake The Dead

Wake The Dead

Wake the dead. No, I’m not talking about zombies or the living dead. I’m talking about waking the dead, as in several biblical accounts of Jesus raising people from the dead. He raised up the son of the widow at Nain. Jesus also raised Jarius’ daughter from the dead. My second favorite account of Jesus raising someone from the dead is where Jesus told Lazarus to come out of the tomb.  [Read more…]

Jesus Came To Save His People From Their Sins

Jesus Came To Save His People From Their Sins

Ministry Update December 24, 2017

I tried something different on Wednesday since there weren’t any classes in session at MSU because of Christmas break.  I held a sign at the corner of Glenstone and Battlefield during the lunch hour. The sign states: Jesus Came To Save His People From Their Sins. Are You One Of His People? Have You Repented And Surrendered Your Life To Jesus? It was only five days until Christmas. Most people were probably thinking about shopping or lunch. Maybe some were even thinking about Christmas – about the birth of Jesus. So, was it wrong to bring up the fact that Jesus came to save His people from their sins?  [Read more…]

Love And Obedience

Love And Obedience

We frequently run into people while out street witnessing that have a wrong view of God’s love. Since the Bible says God is love, they wrongly assume that because God is love, He will overlook sin. After all, He is love. But the Bible doesn’t say God overlooks sin because He is love. If that were the case, then Jesus died in vain. But He did not die in vain. Jesus didn’t die on the cross for guilty sinners so we could sin freely. No, He suffered, bled and died to save His people from their sins (Matthew 1:21). Instead of this wrong, low view of love, what does God want from us? He wants love and obedience.  [Read more…]

Kelly Blessed Many Times
Ministry Update December 17, 2017

Friday night it was great having Kelly join me witnessing in downtown in Springfield, MO. But Kelly was the one who received “many blessings.” Yes, Kelly was blessed many times. What I mean by that is what Jesus said in Matthew 5:11 that you are blessed when people insult and persecute you falsely for His sake. Well, Kelly was blessed many times Friday night.  [Read more…]

No Other Name

I think the post No Other Name Under Heaven was just the second one I posted. It’s a short one but it gets to the heart of the matter. What name are you trusting in? There is no other name under Heaven given among men whereby we must be saved. Jesus, precious Jesus is the only Savior. Is He your Lord and Savior? Have you repented and surrendered your life fully and completely to Him?

Debate Quitting Atheist

Ministry Update December 10, 2017

I was bringing a message on Wednesday at Missouri State University when Quinn the skateboarding atheist stopped and gave me back the booklet How God Reveals Himself Through Science. Quinn insisted that he had to stop after a few pages because the booklet isn’t science. He continued stating that he could only make it through a few pages. The supposedly science believer ended up being a debate quitting atheist. Instead of discussing our different interpretations of science experiments listed in the book, Quinn made some mocking notes on the first few pages and quit.  [Read more…]
