Bring It On

Recently a student at Missouri State University said, “God is not real.” There’s nothing new or special about that, unfortunately, students routinely say this. I replied back that only a fool says there is no God (Psalm 14:1). I also pointed out to the young man that one day he will stand before this very God that he says isn’t real. The student then turned around, flipped me off and yelled, “Bring it on!.” [Read more…]

Blessed Week Witnessing

Ministry Update September 22, 2019

My wife and I were on vacation this week so I wasn’t sure how much witnessing I could work in, but I ended up having a blessed week witnessing. The week started out by handing out Gideon New Testaments with other Gideons at Missouri State University. I didn’t hear how many New Testaments were handed out, but three of us handed out 500 of them in front of Strong Hall. We had a few mockers, but most students were polite, even when they rejected a New Testament. One student told me that he reads his Bible every day. I told him that I do too and was glad to hear this. Charlie and I talked to a student named Ben. The student wanted to know what church we are with and we explained that we are from various churches. I gave Ben an invite card and invited him to visit my church – Crossway Baptist Church. [Read more…]

This And That

This And That

Have you ever used the expression this and that? Generally, we use this expression when we aren’t talking about something in particular. For example, someone asks you what you are doing and you might reply, “I’m doing this and that” or you might say “a little of this and a little of that.” Most of us are probably familiar with this expression. But have you ever heard of “that world”? What if I told you Jesus said “that world”? [Read more…]

Encouraging Student Said “Amen”

Life Is Precious

Ministry Update September 15, 2019

I brought a message on Wednesday at Missouri State University about how life is precious and God makes all of us in His very image. I pleaded with young women that if they find themselves pregnant this year to not kill the baby and I also pleaded with young men to not coerce women into having an abortion if they get a young woman pregnant. You don’t add sin upon sin and you don’t murder a child; that is an abomination to Almighty God. Surprisingly, I had two encouragers while bringing the message. A man walked behind me and encouraged me to keep going. A short while later a student walked past me, turned around and said Amen. [Read more…]

I’m Riding Her Shirttails To Heaven

Ministry Update September 8, 2019

Friday night was a little bit strange. Conner had a conversation with Louis who was out promoting a Christian play at JQH later this month. We really don’t know anything about it. But mainly we had lots of no’s to the offer of Gospel tracts and New Testaments. We also had several drive-by and walk-by mockers as well as others who said little quips but wouldn’t stop and talk; instead they just said something and kept walking. One couple passed by me and she took a New Testament and he refused one. Then he turned around as he kept walking backwards and said, “I’m riding her shirttails to Heaven.” [Read more…]

No Safe Places In Hell

No Safe Places In Hell

Every now and then a student at Missouri State University will say they don’t feel safe while I’m open-air preaching. They want to find a safe place. I’m sorry that some young people get “triggered” when hearing God’s truth, but I really don’t know what’s going to happen to this generation. You can’t call time out in real life and say, “I need to go to my safe place.” This isn’t reality. The really sad reality is there are no safe places in Hell. [Read more…]

Only Two Conversations

Ministry Update September 1, 2019

Conner and I had only two conversations while witnessing downtown Friday night, but they basically lasted the whole time we were there. We started off handing out New Testaments and Gospel tracts. Right off the bat I tried to hand New Testaments to Ryan and Renee. He laughed and told me that he had a ton of these at home. So I said, “Do you read them?” He replied that he did and then he asked where we go to church. I told him I go to Crossway Baptist Church and Conner goes to Hope Baptist Church. Then Ryan told me that he “home” churches and that they are Mormons. [Read more…]

We Want Justice!

We Want Justice!

Jeffrey Epstein hung himself while waiting for trial on sex trafficking charges. His victims, young girls who were in their teens when he raped them and forced them to have sex with other rich and powerful men were robbed of justice. It’s not fair! This slime bag pedophile escaped justice and he avoided spending the rest of his life in prison by taking the easy way out. His victims were robbed of justice. Yes, even those of us who had nothing to do with the case feel robbed of justice and we want justice! We want justice! We want justice! [Read more…]

Student Yelling Hail Satan

You Don’t Mean That

Ministry Update August 25, 2019

Wednesday was the first time witnessing this fall semester at Missouri State University. I really like witnessing at the campus and I miss coming to the campus during the summer. Students are excited at the beginning of the year and more students take Gospel tracts than refuse them. Over 90 students took tracts and I mainly was there to open-air preach. While bringing the message, several students recorded me as they walked by. I’m sure the new students had never seen this before. It was funny watching them record as they walked by and they looked straight ahead like nothing was going on. Did have a few mockers, including one girl that said, “Hail Satan” a couple of times as she walked past. I replied, “You don’t mean that.” [Read more…]

Will God Be Angry Forever?

August 21, 2019 by dennis@seekandsavethelost.com Leave a Comment

Will God Be Angry Forever?

Psalm 85:5 states: Will you (God) be angry with us forever?  Will you prolong your anger to all generations? Will God be angry forever? I will read Psalm 85:1-5 shortly to show that this is a believer that is asking God these questions. The Israelites had rebelled against God and He allowed them to go into captivity because of their rebellion. So will God be angry with true believers forever? [Read more…]
