Bring It On
Recently a student at Missouri State University said, “God is not real.” There’s nothing new or special about that, unfortunately, students routinely say this. I replied back that only a fool says there is no God (Psalm 14:1). I also pointed out to the young man that one day he will stand before this very God that he says isn’t real. The student then turned around, flipped me off and yelled, “Bring it on!.”
Bring it on. Oh, this student will not be saying bring it on when he stands before God on Judgment Day and make no mistake, Judgment Day is coming. It’s appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment (Hebrews 9:27). As stated earlier, the Bible also says that only a fool says there is no God. Why? Because you can look around at creation and know that God is real. Not only that, but God has also written His law upon your heart.
That’s right, you have a God-given conscience. No matter how much you cuss and stomp around and claim there is no God and there are no absolutes, you know this is absolutely false. Everything is not relative. It isn’t you believe what you believe and I believe what I believe. There is absolute truth; there is absolute right and wrong. We have moral standards because God gives us His standards.
10 Commandments
In fact, God gave us the 10 Commandments in order for us to see that we don’t measure up to His perfection. People suppress the truth in unrighteousness because they love their sin. God is Holy, righteous and just and He cannot tolerate sin. He gave us the 10 Commandments. Have you broken them? Of course you have. We all have.
The 10 Commandments are:
1. You shall have no other gods before me.
2. You shall not make yourself any graven image.
3. You shall not take the name of the Lord your God in vain.
4. Remember the Sabbath Day to keep it holy.
5. Honor your Father and your Mother.
6. You shall not kill.
7. You shall not commit adultery.
8. You shall not steal.
9. You shall not lie.
10. You shall not covet.
Again, God gave us these 10 Commandments in order for us to see that we cannot keep them perfectly. We can’t even begin to keep them. James says if you break one commandment you’ve broken them all. Since you and I have broken the commandments, we deserve to be punished. Those who die in their sins as unrepentant sinners will suffer God’s righteous judgment forever.
After Death Comes Judgment
The soul that sins, it shall die. After death comes the judgment. What will you do with your sins on Judgment Day? You will have no where to hide and no one to blame. You will stand before God as the guilty criminal that you are. Yes, you will hang your head in shame and say “You are right or righteous O Lord.” You will bow your knee and confess with your tongue that Jesus Christ is Lord. Then Jesus will have His servants cast you into the lake of fire and brimstone you will suffer for all eternity (Matthew 13:4-42; Revelation 20:15).
Oh folks, this is not a joke. This is not a game. Eternity is a really long time to be wrong. The young man that yelled “Bring it on!” will not be yelling bring it on when he’s suffering the torments of Hell. No, if he dies in his sins, he will be begging for mercy, but he will not receive mercy. He will beg for a drop of water but no water will be given to him.
You must bow the knee and confess with your tongue that Jesus Christ is Lord and you must do so in this life. Don’t foolishly wait until you die and go to Hell. It will be too late then. Instead, recognize that you are a sinner. Confess and forsake your sins. Cry out for God to save you. Repent from your sins and surrender your life fully and completely to Jesus. The Son of the living God. Call upon the mighty name of the Lord and be saved.
Don’t Continue Mocking God
Don’t foolishly continue mocking God. God will not be mocked. For whatsoever a man sows, that shall he also reap. All scoffers are sowing the wind and they will reap the whirlwind. God is a consuming fire. Do not tempt the Lord. Repent and believe the Gospel. Do this today and be saved.
All God mockers and scoffers think they are mocking God, but God is actually mocking them. Listen to what Psalm 2 says: Why do the heathen rage, and the people imagine a vain thing? The kings of the earth set themselves, and the rulers take counsel together, against the Lord, and against his anointed, saying, Let us break their bands asunder, and cast away their cords from us.
God Laughs At Mockers
He that sits in the heavens shall laugh: the Lord shall have them in derision. Then shall he speak unto them in his wrath, and vex them in his sore displeasure. Yet have I set my king upon my holy hill of Zion. I will declare the decree: the Lord hath said unto me, You are my Son; this day have I begotten you. Ask of me, and I shall give you the heathen for your inheritance, and the uttermost parts of the earth for your possession.
You shalt break them with a rod of iron; you shall dash them in pieces like a potter’s vessel. Be wise now therefore, O ye kings: be instructed, ye judges of the earth. Serve the Lord with fear, and rejoice with trembling. Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and ye perish from the way, when his wrath is kindled but a little. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him.
How Foolish To Say Bring it On To God
Bring it on? Bring it on? How foolish for the created being to say to the great Creator God, “Bring it on!” Why do the heathen rage? They rage because they hate being accountable to Almighty God. Unrepentant sinners want to believe that they are in charge of their own lives. But you can’t add an 1/8 of an inch to your height and you cannot extend your life one second past when God says this is your end. Scoffers reject the truth because they love their sin. Men love darkness rather than light because their deeds are evil (John 3:19).
God haters and God mockers want to sin at will and they don’t want a guilty conscience while sinning, so they pretend God doesn’t exist. They do this until their conscience is seared over and no longer bothers them. Well, you can do this to the point of having a reprobate mind. You want to run from God, He allows you to run so far you delude yourself into believing God isn’t real. But in the end, God mocks those who foolishly mock Him now.
God sits in Heaven and laughs at mockers. He has them in derision. One day, one day when it is too late, all mockers and scoffers who die in their sins will receive the full and just wrath of God. The Lord will vex them in His sore displeasure. God is angry with the wicked every day (Psalm 7:11). He hates all workers of iniquity. The foolish shall not stand in your sight: you hate all workers of iniquity (Psalm 5:5).
Kiss The Son
Serve the Lord with fear. Kiss the Son, lest he be angry, and you perish from the way when his wrath is kindled but a little (Psalm 2:11-12). Again, this is not a joke and it’s not a game. Don’t foolishly continue racing down the broad road to destruction. Enter in at the strait gate: for wide is the gate, and broad is the way, that leads to destruction, and many there be which go in there at: Because strait is the gate, and narrow is the way, which leads unto life, and few there be that find it (Matthew 7:13-14).
Do not perish from the way. Jesus is the way. The Lord said: I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man comes to the Father, but by me (John 14:6). Come to Jesus and be saved. Do not perish in your sins. Jesus said unless you repent, you will all likewise perish (Luke 13:3). Perish does not mean annihilation. Those who die in their sins as unrepentant sinners do not just burn up to a crisp in seconds in Hell and that’s it.
No, the torments of Hell never end. It is everlasting torments. Jesus described it as the second death. But the second death never ends. It goes on forever. You will wish for death, but it will not come. You will feel like you are dying, but you never actually die, the second time. It is a place of horrible torments; a place of wailing and gnashing of teeth.
Don’t Foolishly Say Bring It On
Do not foolishly say “Bring it on!” to the Almighty, all powerful and ever-present God. I plead with you, repent from your sins and surrender your life fully and completely to Jesus. Then serve the Lord with fear and be blessed. Blessed are all they that put their trust in him (Psalm 2:12). Oh, trust in the Lord with all your heart. Love the Lord with all your heart, soul, mind and strength.
When God reveals your wickedness to you and shows you His righteousness, that’s when you cry out for mercy. You don’t want God’s justice, His judgment. You need His mercy instead. Truly repent from your sins and put your faith in Jesus. Submit your life to the Lord of lords. Jesus has a name above every other name. Willingly bow your knee to Him in this life.
Bring Your Life Under Submission To Jesus
Instead of foolishly saying “Bring it on!”, bring your life under submission to the Lord Jesus. Call upon the name of the Lord and be saved. Come to Jesus and be saved. Jesus didn’t come for the righteous (those who think they are righteous). No, He came to save sinners. He came to save His people from their sins. Listen to what Jesus said: All that the Father gives me shall come to me; and him that comes to me I will in no wise cast out.
For I came down from heaven, not to do mine own will, but the will of him that sent me. And this is the Father’s will which hath sent me, that of all which he hath given me I should lose nothing, but should raise it up again at the last day. And this is the will of him that sent me, that everyone which sees the Son, and believes on him, may have everlasting life: and I will raise him up at the last day (John 6:37:40).
Repent and believe the Gospel. Do this today and be saved. Those who humbly come to Jesus and surrender to Him, He will in no way cast you out. Bring your life under the Lordship of Jesus. Repent from your sins and put your trust in the Lord Jesus Christ. He is the only Savior of mankind. Trust in the Lord and be saved.
