Bowing To Jesus
I willingly bow my knee to King Jesus. Do you? Is Jesus Christ your Lord and Savior tonight or do you think that you are still in charge? Who or what is first in your life? We all serve someone or something. If Jesus is not the supreme ruler of your life, then you are serving Satan, your fleshly lusts or the world.
The Bible says every knee will bow to Jesus Christ the Lord. Do you do so willingly or will you do so reluctantly on Judgment Day? Are you surrendered fully and completely to Jesus? Or will you bow someday when it won’t do you any good? When it will be too late to help you? Some people bowed down to Jesus the night that He was betrayed for 30 pieces of silver, but their bowing down did them absolutely no good at all. Do you bow willingly to the Lord or will you be forced to do so someday when it won’t do you any good?
Whom Do You Seek?
John 18:1-9 says; When Jesus had spoken these words, he went forth with his disciples over the brook Cedron, where was a garden, into the which he entered, and his disciples. And Judas also, which betrayed him, knew the place: for Jesus often times resorted there with his disciples. Judas then, having received a band of men and officers from the chief priests and Pharisees, came there with lanterns and torches and weapons.
Jesus therefore, knowing all things that should come upon him, went forth, and said unto them, Whom do you seek? They answered him, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus saith unto them, I am he. And Judas also, which betrayed him, stood with them. As soon then as he had said unto them, I am he, they went backward, and fell to the ground.
Then he asked them again, Whom do you seek? And they said, Jesus of Nazareth. Jesus answered, I have told you that I am he: if therefore ye seek me, let these go their way: That the saying might be fulfilled, which he spoke, Of them which thou gave me have I lost none.
People Came To Take Jesus By Force
Please notice the people that came out to take Jesus by force, came with lanterns and weapons. They were going to take care of what they considered to be the troublemaker once and for all. But when Jesus asked who they were looking for, He answered, “I am He.” Jesus is the Great I Am.
And Moses said unto God, Who am I, that I should go unto Pharaoh, and that I should bring forth the children of Israel out of Egypt? And he said, Certainly I will be with thee; and this shall be a token unto thee, that I have sent thee: When thou hast brought forth the people out of Egypt, ye shall serve God upon this mountain.
And Moses said unto God, Behold, when I come unto the children of Israel, and shall say unto them, The God of your fathers hath sent me unto you; and they shall say to me, What is his name? what shall I say unto them? And God said unto Moses, I Am That I Am: and he said, Thus shalt thou say unto the children of Israel, I Am hath sent me unto you (Exodus 3:11-14).
The Great I Am
Yes, Jesus is the Great I am. So when he told the people that came to arrest Him that, “I am He,” they went backward and fell to the ground. They bowed to the ground. They bowed down to the Lord Jesus. Yes, they were in the presence of the Great I AM and they bowed down. But it didn’t do them any good. No, they didn’t repent from their sins and surrender their life to King Jesus. Instead, they took Him by force to the high priest.
Then the band and the captain and officers of the Jews took Jesus, and bound him, And led him away to Annas first; for he was father in law to Caiaphas, which was the high priest that same year (John 18:12-13). Are you like the band of men that came for Jesus that night? Do gnash your teeth upon the Son of the living God? The wicked plots against the just, and gnashes upon him with his teeth (Psalm 37:12). Do you hate God and love your sin? Are you going to someday bow your knee to the Lord and have it do you absolutely no good at all?
Every single one of those men bowed to King Jesus, yet, they still bound him and took him to the high priest. Even though they were bowing to Jesus, it didn’t deter them from hating Him and continuing with their task. It didn’t keep them from saying “We will not have this man reign over us.”
Are You Bowing To Jesus?
Are you bowing to Jesus tonight, willingly, gratefully, as a saved soul? As a follower of Christ Jesus, or are you still running around with lanterns and weapons breathing out threatening’s to the One you should be bowing to and surrendering to? Have you truly surrendered your life to the Lord Jesus? Have you thrown down your rebellion against the King of kings and the Lord of lords? Who reigns over your life? You or Christ Jesus?
If you are not bowing to Jesus tonight, one day you will. Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth; And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father (Philippians 2:5-11).
There Are No Exclusions
Please notice there are no exclusions here: every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord. My friends and I willingly bow to Jesus right here, right now. It is a real honor and privilege to lift up the precious name of Jesus out in the streets. We gladly bow to the One who saved us from our sins. Yes, we gratefully bow to the One who took the punishment over our sins that we deserved.
We do bow the knee and confess with the tongue that Jesus is Lord. Oh, but everyone will do so one day, every single professing atheist, every God mocker and God scoffer as well as all those who worship false gods. They will all bow the knee and confess to the real Lord – the Lord of the Bible – the one and only Jesus Christ – Son of the living God.
Christ Jesus Died And Rose Again
For to this end Christ both died, and rose, and revived, that he might be Lord both of the dead and living. But why do you judge your brother? or why do you regard your brother with contempt? for we shall all stand before the judgment seat of Christ. For it is written, As I live, saith the Lord, every knee shall bow to me, and every tongue shall confess to God. So then every one of us shall give account of himself to God (Romans 14:9-12).
And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commands all men everywhere to repent: Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead (Acts 17:30-31). God commands you to repent and you will bow the knee one day.
Don’t Continue Rebelling Against God
But don’t continue rebelling against God. Don’t continue stiffening your neck and hardening your heart against God. Don’t continue rejecting such a great of salvation. Repent from your sins and surrender your life to Jesus. Willingly bow your knee and confess with your tongue that Jesus Christ is Lord and be saved. Be saved today.
But what saith it? The word is nigh thee, even in thy mouth, and in thy heart: that is, the word of faith, which we preach; That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.
For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. For there is no difference between the Jew and the Greek: for the same Lord over all is rich unto all that call upon him. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved (Romans 10:8-13). Join us tonight in bowing to Jesus, confessing Him as your Lord and Savior. Become a new creature in Christ. Repent and believe the Gospel and be saved.
