Blasphemers!
Ministry Update December 2, 2018
The best way to describe Friday night witnessing is: blasphemers! Before we started out, we had the usual car driving the wrong way. I tried to get the driver’s attention, but he kept going until he was forced to stop from a car coming right at him. After that, I brought the first message and that’s when two blasphemers walked up and started blaspheming God.
The first guy yelled at me, “Man made God.” This is blasphemy. When you foolishly state that the created being created the Creator. You are attributing what only God can do to man and you are putting man above God. This is horribly blasphemous. Satan wanted to be above God and God kicked Lucifer out of Heaven. So putting yourself above God is utter foolishness, but it is also very serious; it is blaspheming our Holy, righteous God.
You Are Lying To These People
The second guy got in my face and was upset that I was open-air preaching. So I asked him if he doesn’t believe in God, why does he get so upset about it. He responded, “Because you are lying to these people.” Then he said, “God does not exist.” Conner was standing near me, so he engaged the guy in conversation and that allowed me to continue bringing the message. Conner also asked him why was getting so upset and he repeated, because we are lying to people. Then he turned around and yelled as loud as he could, “They are lying to you!” Folks, this is also blasphemy. When you call truth a lie, when you deny our great Creator God, you are blaspheming Almighty God.
Have A Good Night
Then when Conner brought his message, he had a drive-by mocker right off the bat, but I couldn’t hear what he said. Pastor Joshua preached after Conner. As he was preaching, a woman yelled that was crossing the street, “Go f-off.” Then she repeated it again as she got closer. Then she said it loudly right in his face. Sometimes you can tell that a mocker is going to keep going, so you just acknowledge them. That’s exactly what he did. Pastor Joshua calmly just said, “Have a good night.” To which the woman replied, “Have a good night, after you f-off.”
All three of us handed out tracts when we weren’t open-air preaching. I tried to hand one to one woman and she said, “Here you can have this one back.” She was trying to hand the tract to me that she had received from Conner from across the street. When I didn’t take it, she threw it at me. Another time a couple of people refused tracts. Then I recognized that I had already given one to the next guy walking behind them. He walked by me and said, “Why would anyone refuse this?” I said that’s a great question. We witnessed about an hour earlier than normal and it seemed to work out well. There was a larger crowd than we normally have. May God bless the messages and the tracts that were handed out.
Do You Get Paid For It?
The temperature was 34 degrees and felt like 24 degrees with the wind chill on Wednesday when I witnessed at MSU. Most students weren’t interested interacting. A student or two took pictures as they walked by. But one student walked up to me and wanted to know, “Why do you do this?” Then she looked around as if to say no one is listening to you. After that she said, “Do you get paid for it?” I laughed and said, “No I don’t get paid to come here. I do this on my own.”
