The last line of Nothing But the Blood of Jesus goes: This is all my hope and peace, Nothing but the blood of Jesus; This is all my righteousness, Nothing but the blood of Jesus. Aaron and I sung this hymn in front of Planned Parenthood recently. We’ve sung this song over 100 times out street witnessing. But on that particular day, the lyrics this is ALL MY RIGHTEOUSNESS, NOTHING BUT THE BLOOD OF JESUS really hit me.
Like many of our evangelistic friends around the country, we read the Bible, pray and prepare all week for witnessing. But sometimes witnessing doesn’t turn out the way we anticipate. Sometimes our best laid plans are thwarted, but that’s ok. Because our desire above all is to honor and glorify God and to be used by Him for His kingdom work and we ask that His will be done; whether it goes according to plan or whether our Lord changes everything or a combination of the two. Even demons know God is real. Many people run around saying that there is no God, but even the demons know that God is real. Even demons aren’t foolish enough to say there is no God. Just prior to asking her this question, the young lady professed to be a Christian. So what do you think her answer was? What was more important to her? Surely souls being saved; right? Wrong. In the last few days there has been an outcry against the shooter in Colorado that killed three people and wounded many others. Personally I feel bad for Officer Swasey’s family. There’s also been an outcry over the Chicago policeman who shot the teenager 16 times in 15 seconds. As well as the outcry over the gang members in Chicago that killed the little nine year old boy – execution style. There has been an outcry over these heinous crimes as there should be. But at the same time, there’s been a deafening silence over the vicious murder of over 3,000 babies in the womb – every day in America. So I ask you, where’s the outcry? [Read more…]
There’s only One who is Prophet, Priest and King. Jesus Christ is the only One who fills all three positions. Not the pope, not the president, not the health, wealth and prosperity false teachers, only Jesus. He is the One. He is the Prophet. He is the High Priest. He is the King. There is no other.
On Wednesday November 18, 2015 I was at MSU at the usual spot and a young man came up to me and wanted to know if open-air preaching (or as he called it – yelling at people) was really the best way to reach people. I was just about finished with my message when he interrupted me. I told him to hang on a minute that I was about finished. Last Friday night we heard several people say that Jesus died for our sins, but they were saying that we can sin at will because Jesus died for our sins. You can do whatever you want, because Jesus died for our sins. Sadly, these people are missing repentance. They are counting on a one time little prayer to keep them out of Hell, but it won’t do it. Without repentance, there is no salvation and Jesus never condoned sin. [Read more…]
